This is the best book available to learn about how to direct and shoot a film. Hands down. I bought the first edition years ago, when I was learning to direct television. I used that book for years, then gave it away to someone who was learning. Now I bought myself the new edition and I love it. If you want to learn how to tell stories with a film camera, this is an essential book. Highly recommended. Easy to read and very practical.

Good for any director to learn how to start thinking like a director. Book has different structures and diagrams to really help you visually see what it's talking about. Love the storyboard breakdowns!

This book is great. It’s filled with lots of knowledge. It’s more like a text book for education and if that’s what you’re looking for then this book is for you. As a filmmaker I always reference this book as a fresher while in preproduction. I highly recommend it.
