It can be used via wall outlet/battery pack with the USB cable that is provided. It is not your traditional USB cable so try not to break it because I am unsure what will actually work to replace it. It does come with battery slots for 3 AA batteries but be aware they have to individually be placed in different parts of the fan which is annoying so you have to remove three covers to put three batteries in. The fan lasting on batteries vary based on what is being used. The light function in my opinion is the most draining. It is nice that it can be stand up for hanged. The hook is built into the stand so you can remove it and place is say above the tent hanging to provide a small fan. It only has three settings which is fan, light or fan with light. It gets really dim for some reason with fan and light. If you wish to have a brighter light you will have to use only the light alone. The fan provides a pretty cool feeling but be aware it won't work too well in a large tent. I think it works best with like a 2 person camp. The light itself is a pretty bright light and will light up a small tent fairly easily. Overall i think this is a decent product but I really wish it did provide a rechargeable battery built in because replacing the battery is a pain and constantly needing to plug it in without a battery is annoying. Review: Does the job! Great for those that need white noise. - So I have a camping trip coming in July and the wifey wants to make sure I load up on camping gear that will make life easier for her. That being said, I've been buying a lot of stuff lately for the trip. This one is for me, I have to have white noise and the fan is excellent for that. Obviously it cools down as well. The fan is best used close up and the light is pretty bright. It's not the "in your face" kind of light, but it does the job. It has an adjustable stand so you can stand it up and point it in the direction you want. The fan uses batteries or you are able to plug in a power adapter for continues flow. I was able to test it out and keep it for an extended period of time with no issues. I started taking it to work for just the fan of course and it does the job of cooling me down after going for a jog on breaks and lunch. My wife now wants one, so a second one more than likely will be purchased.

I Stayed Hot
I bought this for a two night camping trip in NC for Memorial Day. The first night, it had fresh batteries but quit within the first hour of using fan only and wouldn’t cut back on. The light seemed to work fine but the fan wouldn’t. The second night, we put new batteries in again and it probably worked probably 1-2 hours fan only but stopped. I woke up sweating around 2 am and turned it back on. Fan cranked up again but was off by the time I woke up at 6. The light was bright and seemed to stay on when used but that fan was pitiful.

Awesome outdoor/camping fan light
Ok so I bought this one because one fan in my giant tent is not enought, plus this baby has some awesome features. You have the option of powering the unit with three AA batteries, they recommend brand name. Also you could alternatively use rechargi batteries and when you use the enclosed plug the batteries will charge in the fan. And the third option which is why I bought it, you can use the cord instead of any batteries and power it off your power pack as you can see I am doing in the photos. This way if you have it on all night and attached to a big power pack it will run the entire time. The fan itself has three settings all controlled with one ouch button. First push will turn the fan on, second push will turn the lights on and fan off, and the third push will turn on both the fan and the light. Haven't had any issues and really don't expect to have any in the future. Great price!

The light is great
The light is super bright. The fan is not what I was hoping for. You have to have it right on your face to feel it. Not an option for me as I worry my hair will be sucked up into it. Probably a great desk fan. But for camping when it's hot, I need something to move the air around inside the tent. This didn't do that and I had 2.

Blown away
I am very satisfied with this battery operated fan and lighting that I have used so far. I paired this with my external battery charger without any AA batteries and it was great. The instructions does say to not use it when charging but I had no problems yet when using it at the same time. When you adjust the handle, it gives a clicking noise which is very nice because on each click it feels really sturdy and the fan handle does not move. This was very appealing to me with the 360 degrees of motion around the fan. It allows you to be very versatile on which angle you prefer. The hook that hidden with the handle is a nice added bonus which can let you hang the fan. I wish this fan would have two buttons instead of one. One for the lighting and one for the fan. On the product description, the sequence was listed as Off/Fan High/Light High/Fan&Light Low/Off. I wished it this fan would also had a low fan mode with out the lights because of the noise it produces. It is slightly louder than I expected as I thought it would be more of a background noise instead of small jet. Its a minor detail that I don't really mind but could lead to turning off some people. This dual fan and lantern is a great product that will soon be part of my emergency items in the car and my outdoor adventures!
