It WORKS!
We live near a body of water and discovered a mildew problem on our lower level, which is where my Watercolor Studio is. To my horror I noticed mildew under the sinks and even on my purses in my storage closet, so I was in a panic to resolve before my artwork was infected. First I tried Damp Rid, and that’s a good product, but I needed something stronger. My neighbor recommended this machine. So easy to set up, The minute we plugged it in, we noticed improvement! Seriously this machine pulls GALLONS of water a day out of our air. We live in SoCal near the Back Bay and can’t believe how many times a day we are emptying this machine. I actually use the water for my plants, and although my husband was suspicious at first, there have been no adverse effects. Except savings on our water bill! The smelly odors are gone, and even the cats like to hang out on this level more because the air is fresh and clean. Pros: removes excess moisture in the air, mitigating the growth of mildew and mold on surfaces, freshens the air, does not dry skin Cons: the water reservoir is HEAVY when full, and awkward to lift/empty. a person without much upper body strength might prefer to check the unit regularly and empty before it’s full. Also these units blow warm air! That’s good in cool weather but not so great when it’s hot out. Also, there’s an auto shut off, but the unit doesn’t alert you, the fan just turns off, so checking the unit regularly is a must. Regardless for me, it solves my problem and warms my room at night when the cool breezes blow so I am extremely pleased!

Very quiet
We've had this dehumidifier for about a month and it works great. It's quiet and turns off when it attains the programmed humidity level. The setup was simple. So far so good.

DO NOT BUY - Leaks After 1 1/2 Years
I purchased the 4,500 sf dehumidifier m about 1 1/2 years ago and it worked well to mitigate humidity issues in our home for awhile. Unfortunately, when we turned it on the fall/winter, it started leaking and leaving large puddles underneath the unit. The reservoir is still filling and the unit automatically turns off when it’s full, but a large amount of water is getting under the unit as it operates. There is no visible crack or issue with the unit and I can’t tell where the water is getting out, under the unit. We’re disappointed a dehumidifier at this price point didn’t last longer. Update - My unit is not leaking due to the auto-shutoff not working or from the back, where a hose could connect, like some others have observed. Mine is leaking from above and behind where the reservoir slides into the unit. The water should (and mine still does) fill up the reservoir from the larger hole above the slide-in reservoir. Unfortunately, there is a smaller hole toward the back that is also dripping water, and this water runs behind the reservoir/container and underneath, onto the floor. I have not found a fix or heard back from Midea customer service about how to solve the problem yet. The picture shows the problem/location. Update 2 - Customer service responded by asking for detailed pictures and information about the leak. After I submitted them, they responded that the unit is out of warranty and recommended I contact A/C repair companies in the area and hire a technician to assist. I was hoping they would at least give me some feedback about the issue. No luck.

Works Great Except Needs to be Emptied Occasionally Even with Drain Hose
Overall a good dehumidifier with a flaw that prevents it from getting a 5 star rating. It is a little bulky, but not so bad that it's too hard to move around, especially with the wheels. The Midea works pretty well at removing moisture from the air. Plug it in, set on auto, and it's good to go. The noise is very noticeable in any kind of living area, especially when Turbo mode is on. It's fine for a basement though. The built-in bucket can easily fill up in a day, so I opted for using a drain hose. This is where I knocked a star off. Firstly, for the price, they should include a drain hose. They don't, but any hose with a standard garden fitting will work. Secondly, even though a drain hose is attached, the bucket slowly fills up over the course of a week or so. When the bucket is full, the dehumidifier stops working until it is emptied so you have to check on it once in a while. I have two of these units, and both exhibit this flaw. Aside from this flaw, I like this dehumidifier. I don't know if I'd buy it again because of the bucket/hose issue though. I have a different brand of dehumidifier that also uses a hose to drain, and I never need to empty out the bucket on it. Update 09/2021: I still have two of these units running. They’re working great. Clean the filter once every couple of months and they’re good to go. Strangely, I haven’t had to empty the bucket in the last forever.

I'd purchase again
We have been using this dehumidifier for several weeks now. Here are our initial thoughts- Pros- It works, pulling well over a gallon a day out of the air. Easy to use, and has a running display of the humidity level. It's relatively quiet, like white noise. Rolls easily on casters from one part of the house to the next. The design is clean and sleek. Thought we might need a drain hose (it has connection for this), but its an easy matter for us to empty once of twice a day, either outside or in the shower. It does have an overflow shut off in case you forget. Cons- Feels a bit delicate and "plasticy", but as long as you are reasonably careful it shouldn't be a problem. The reinforced packing tape is nearly impossible to remove. Took way more patience than I would have thought to remove and clean off the sticky residue..

Really sucks the moisture out of the air...
We own different model Midea dehumidifier, the cube, that we have used in a garage /basement utility room and it has worked great, so we bought this Midea for our finished downstairs TV party room. The room is carpeted, and sometimes the moisture in the room causes a musty smell in the carpet, but not any more. As instructed the first operation of this dehumidifier I left on for 24 hrs straight. Well it shut down after 14 hrs because the tank was full of water. I didn't even think the room was very humid but obviously it was. It's showing 43% humidity now which is really comfortable, almost too dry so might have to set it higher. The room feels drier and less clammy and damp and the musty smell is gone. Sure I am going to have to dump the water every day or two, but I'd trade that for a dry, musty free tv room any day. My only complaint is it is a little louder than I expected. The description says quieter than a refrigerator, but this is not the case for us.

machine works like a champ. IMO the noise level is low
works well. i had a mildew problem in my quest bedroom. after we cleaned the rooms, this machine is running 24hr/day . we ordered parts so we could have it drain directly to the shower drain and it works fine. be aware that to have direct drainage, you must elevate the unit on a stool to let gravity dispose of the water into the drain.

Works great!!
I am so glad I made this purchase. I was hesitant When shopping because it's a chunk of change to spend and I wanted to make sure I got a good quality product. So glad I went with this one. It does the job and I'm amazed at how much water fills up when it pulls the moisture out of the air. I live in Texas and a few months out of the year when the humidity is higher this has saved the day. My mom has COPD and this has helped a lot with air quality and her breathing. It makes my other household appliances run more efficient by controlling the moisture and the house feels so much better. Because it pulls the moisture out of the air I think it also helps with the actual house as well. I try to keep things well ventilated but in high humidity when I have to keep Windows shut this really saves our house from the walls getting sticky and any moisture buildup. Easy to use functions. It will beep a few times and automatically shut off once the water has filled up so no spills. I empty the compartment when I'm ready and pop it back in and it turns back on. When you turn it on it will show you the humidity level in your room and it shows you as the humidity level goes down. I put it on the Comfort setting and it regulates perfectly. It must be energy-efficient because I have not noticed any increase in my utility bill. I have used it on and off for several months now and no issues. It's on rollers so it can easily be moved into different rooms. I haven't had to do that I just put it in the biggest open room and let it do its thing and it seems to cover my whole 1800 square foot house. When I first got it I moved it into two different big areas of the house to nip it in the bud and now I've been able to keep it and one bigger open area and the air in the house feels great. It does have some noise to it when it's running but nothing intrusive and I find it soothing. The container at the bottom that fills up with water has a handle inside and the handle is very sturdy. I was extra cautious emptying it the first couple times because I didn't want any of the water to spill. The handle is very sturdy however and I emptied in the tub no problem. Once emptied, you slide in pop it right back in and it's good to go. You can set it to run on a timer or to stay at a certain moisture level. I don't leave it on 24 hours. There's really no need even in high humidity. I will run it part of the day usually letting it fill up a couple Cycles then leave it off at night. The water is secure when it fills up if it has to sit but I try to empty it right away. Although the water collected doesn't appear dirty I would definitely not recommend using it for drinking water for your pets or to water house plants. I either pour it in the tub or shower or I pour it outside for one of my trees or outdoor plants. Great buy , very pleased!!

Does not work in UAE
Due to the voltage. This appliance works on 115v and has an American spec plug. You need to add to this purchase a power converter from 220v to 110v. That is an extra 200AED. Ultimately if an appliance is sold by Amazon US, don’t buy it. Lesson learned here.

Absolute Beast of a Dehumidifier
This thing is a beast. I bought it to deal with humidity in my 2,300 sq. ft. basement, and it started pulling water out of the air almost immediately. Before I set it up, the humidity was sitting around 73%, and now it stays steady at 45% without the unit even working that hard. Setup was simple — plug it in, set your humidity level, and let it run. The WiFi feature is actually super convenient. The machine sends a notification to your phone when the water bin is full, which saves you from constantly checking it. I didn’t think I’d use the app much, but it’s turned out to be really handy. The tank is a good size, and I’m emptying it less often than expected. Noise‑wise, it’s quieter than other dehumidifiers I’ve owned. You can hear it running, but it’s just a steady fan sound — nothing annoying. What I like: Pulls moisture fast — noticeable difference right away WiFi control + full‑tank notifications are genuinely useful Quiet for a 50‑pint unit Large tank, easy to empty Reusable filter Honestly, I can’t think of anything negative to say about it. If you’ve got a damp basement or a big space to dry out, this unit handles it without any fuss. Solid buy.

Feature and quality
This dehumidifier has been incredibly helpful for our home! ❄️🏠 Especially in winter, it really helps reduce moisture and keeps the air feeling much more comfortable. We noticed a big difference in preventing dampness and that heavy, humid feeling indoors. I also love that it’s WiFi-enabled, which makes it easy to monitor and control when needed. It’s very convenient and works efficiently for larger spaces. Definitely a great investment for maintaining a comfortable home highly recommend!

Great dehumidifier
This is our third Midea dehumidifier. They seem to last about 2 years in our home; which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. It gets a five star rating for the job it does. Efforts to have the first one repaired fell short of expectations as it’s shipped out of the US. I could not find a repair business in Canada. The estimated cost of repair and shipping lead me to scrap the idea. Works great. 2 year life span in our home.
