Does what it says. However, unlike some others, it also works very well on laminated and wooden flooring. It's lightweight, and appears sturdy enough to receive a good bashing, although by then and opportunist would've likely left. Size is decent and easy to pack, eg, slim enough to fit under mant doors but high enough for doors with larger gaps. It's more practical than aesthetically pleasing and provides a nice secure feel to sleep in various accommodations where a non-locking door becomes a last minute challenge. Baring in mind we're not security experts, this is loud!!! So if you're planning your use it in your hotel room(?) 1) Test the door against it to name sure you're comfortable with its level of movement resistance/grip. Then 2) Remove the batteries.

I bought this as I was cat sitting in a very large house on my own and was quite apprehensive about it. I used this on the bedroom door and it gave me peace of mind as it is a very loud alarm and would surely scare anyone who broke in. The only downside is that it wouldn't work on a door that was very close to the floor as there wouldn't be enough room for the door to travel far enough up it's slope to activate the alarm. It worked extremely well for me.

You should not be allowed to sell an emergency travel safety product that needs an obscure battery that you don’t supply with the product. I needed it for my vacation and could not find the 9V random battery it needs to work. Shame. When one finally does install it doesn’t work much on typical Hilton / Holiday Inn type hotels with carpets. It just slides away. Given I had to make an extra trip to get the battery I can’t recommend this product.

I’m delighted that these door stoppers are very loud! There’s no doubt that they are a deterrent to anyone trying to break into your home! They will be running away as fast as they can!
