The book is awsome for anybody willing to learn how to write an academic English.Everything is explained simply and clearly.Not only non-native English speakers will benefit from this book, but native too can.I highly recommend it for everyone, whether young or adult, male or female, black or white.Dont miss it! Excellent item! I use it for my academic writing course (undergraduate course) and it's an excellent addition to the syllabus. It provides clear explanations and a great amount of exercises. The only thing I do need to stress is that you have to buy the answer key separately.

I ordered it as a used book, so of course, it wasn't in brand new condition. I think the price I paid was a good price for a used book.

I've been using this book for only a couple weeks, but it appears to be exactly (or as near as possible) what I was looking for. I have two grad students whose English is already quite good (CEF C1) but still struggle with their writing. This book goes through the basic dos and don'ts of writing, regardless of academic topics. Having said that, it's not the most user-friendly for the classroom, but then again, writing hardly ever is. I would recomend this book for self-study as well as tutored study only for students really motivated to improve their writing skills, as it is NOT and ESL book, it's a book on writing. The drawback is the absence of an answer key, which I only realised when I got it and started using it. Now I have to get the teacher's guide; I've been teaching ESL for 18 yrs, and there are some tricky things in the book which most teachers (not to say all) would benefit from having a proper answer key and coments. Overall, a good buy!

very helpful book. I would have kept it, but I needed money and sold it. I feel like i'm a pretty bad writer and that book helped me feel comfortable of what and how I should write.

Very good to those who want to start to learn from the basics ... The book has very clear strategy to explain ideas and enough exercises to assess your understanding.

Utilissimo per imparare a scrivere in inglese in maniera corretta. Di facile comprensione, resta comunque una guida utilissima per studenti e appassionati della lingua inglese. Da leggere e studiare con la dovuta attenzione. Consigliatissimo.

This book is very useful; it has everything you need to know about composition, or in other words, grammar for writing. Also very good on structuring writing and to some degree simplifies the structure of essays/paragraphs. As a coursebook would be a bit dry, but as a supplement to a course or something to adapt, and also as a reference, it is excellent. I bought it years ago, lent my copy to someone who lost it, so I've bought it again.

Ganz neue, das überrascht mir! Und dieses Buch ist auch ein ganz nützlich Buch für Englisch Textproduktion, spezielle für wissenschaftliche Schreibe. Ich will mithilfe dieses Buch, steigt mein Englisch ins nächste Niveau.
