Awesome. Now I can't speak for longevity in the slightest. I've used this thing for a day. I noticed this thing was on a really good sale (I had been eyeing it for a while), and finally plunged and bought it. I previously had an ionizer however I didn't like that it made everything dusty, so decided to switch to an air filter. I had NO IDEA this thing was going to be so large! It's nearly 3ft tall. I only intended to use this in my bedroom, so it's kind of overkill, but I love it. Let me start with the most important part, the airflow. On the highest setting, it is insane. It actually feels like a fan, but with purified air. Love it. It does come out at the sides, which is a little strange, but it doesn't bother me. It does have that UV light, but the light isn't very bright, so I can't imgine it does a whole lot. On the plus side, i can leave it on without having to worry about the room being too bright. I had one on my ionizer, but the blue light was so bright that I had to leave it off most of the time. As far as noise, I typically leave this on a 2. It has 5 settings. 1-2 is virtually silent. 3, you can somewhat hear the fan, but it is still very quiet. 4-5 are a bit louder. 5 it sounds like an actual fan. It isn't loud, but you can definitely hear the fan and the air moving around, simply because it is so strong. I was shocked to see how powerful this thing is. If you really want air pumping through, this will do it. I kinda regret no getting something smaller, because this is total overkill for a bedroom. But I got a good deal on it, I paid less for this one than the other model that is smaller than this one goes for usually, and that's probably better suited for a bedroom. Anyway, I highly recommend this if you want a quality filter. It looks great too. But you have to understand what you're buying. I figured this one would be a bit larger, but it really is big. This would be best suited for a living room or something. Anything smaller is overkill and unnecessary, unless you happened to need a fan as well. Because seriously, it works well as a fan on the high setting. I will definitely update my review if anything changes in the future. No updates means no changes and so far so good. :)

Being a smoker I hated having to stand outside to divulge in my very bad habit. Once I received this GermGuardian AC5350BCA unit I lit up and watched how this unit amazingly sucked up all the smoke in it's path from 5-6 feet away! At first, I just thought this unit was a gimmick since I own 2 other GermGuardian AC5000E models and this one uses the exact same filter (Size C), but that is not the case by any means. This one is whisper quiet even on the 4 out of 5 setting and is a huge improvement over their other models. The UV-C light is even smaller than their other units which helps eliminate the possibility of breakage when it's time for replacement. Also, the blue light markings on the top of the unit make it easy to use right out of the box. Now I wish I owned more of these units and will probably buy at least one more and give the others away to friends. The air circulation is awesome and the manual states that the approximately $27.00 filters only require complete replacement every 6-8 months while you only need to vacuum out the carbon pre-filter about once a month. You'll be amazed how much dust, pet hairs and smoke this unit takes in and it has helped my allergies tremendously. And, last, but not least, the air smells clean as my non-smoking friends can attest to. Buy one; you won't be sorry. I kid you not. Thanks for reading!
