We use this to scoop out our cookie dough. It makes nice big cookies when using this size of scooper.

Perfect size - makes awesome cookies and is a Great portion control disher for other things - easy to use release handle and easy to clean

This exactly what you are looking for..serving icecream, sherbert, sorbet or gelato. I wouldn't recommend it for cookie dough scooping-- I would get a smaller stronger one made of stainless steel for that function

The gear disengaged from the slots the first time I used it. Tried everything, including pliers to bend it so it would catch. No luck. Junk! Not returnable so $10 just went in the trash.

For a disclaimer: I'm a baker by trade and use various scoops on a daily basis. I was tired of not baking at home because I didn't have any pre-measured scoops. Once you use one, you can't go back to haphazardly spooning cupcake batter into pans. This scoop was the right size for cupcakes and I couldn't see why the brand mattered since it's NSF certified. I was wrong. It came bent and looks like it might break under heavy strain. That's what I get for assuming, right? It works for muffin and cupcake batter, but it would probably break trying to get ice cream.

DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME AND EFFORT ON WINCO DISHERS. Zero stars should be an option! Cheap quality. Extreeeemly thin metal. The rotating knife that seperates the food from the scoop does not come close to the wall of the scoop thus leaving a large amount of the portion undished. The scraper/knife is not the same shape as the scoop and the thickness of the scoop is less than a lid from a sardine can. This can't be a fluke or a coincidence. All of these were purchased in the same order and seems to be consistent with other reviews. See photos. Photo 1) Winco #8 2) winco #16 3) Winco #6. The last photo is a 26 year old halco that has maintained its tolerances. Not shown is a 23 year old Vollrath that has also superior to winco. Also not shown is the Hamilton Beach #12 that was included in this shipment. It was worth keeping.

These break pretty much after 2 weeks of usage. Don't waste your money.

I am not usually a person who complains but this was ridiculous. I used the scope for TWO cookies (they were not heavy cookies at all) and the button bent and then the piece popped out. When I went to return and replace, it says the product is not eligible. Just useless.

I use this for muffins and cupcakes only and it is perfect for this purpose! I'm not sure how well it would hold up using on hard ice cream, but for my purposes it is awesome!
