It worked for about 6 months
And then started dropping connection.I use this device to give a hardwired 3D printer controller a WIFi connection.Setting it up takes a while because the instructions do not match the unit's interface. In general it took me three tries each time to get it set up correctly. Every so often it would forget what it was doing and I had to re-do the setup. Now, when I send a job to the printer, at some point along the way it will drop the connection and not succeed. Always. Completely unusable six months after purchase. This is the second brand of this type of interface, and the other one failed in a different manner. My advice? Go spend real money on something from a reputable networking company.

Difficult to setup and administer
I purchased to be able to connect to my home wifi and plug in a device that did not have wifi built-in.I setup bridge mode, and disabled the built in hotspot. Trying to figure out how to connect to the admin panel was tedious. I tried setup via a wired ethernet, but finally resorted to using wifi to setup. This required performing setup steps in a specific order because after setup, I wanted the hotspot disabled. The device is small, but runs very warm. The admin ui is complete but assumes you deeply understand networking. I was never able to upgrade the internal firmware because the firmware download would alway fail.

Works exactly like its advertised! Ethernet to Wifi
Works exactly like it should! Older laptop with dodgy USB ports didn't work using wifi dongles! Very happy!

no usable instructions or videos
There are multiple ways to set this up from what I could gather. A tiny booklet that I tried to decipher with a magnifying glass left me clueless. Multiple searches online kept leading me back to the same useless video with no audio and blurry screenshots making it impossible to follow along or even know what set they are trying to configure. From what I could make out you need to plug the LAN line in the hotel room's router and the USB into a USB power outlet. Both of those chords are hard-wired into the device and about 4 inches long so unless those two things are about 4 inches from each other you are out of luck. btw most hotels hide their router like mine did to keep you from plugging stuff into it. The fact that no one else has made a video on youtube for how to set this up is also very strange.

Works perfect for creating a mobile network
We needed something small and mobile that can create a LAN + wifi network. This was exactly it. Small, simple, worked perfectly.

Flashing led Lights are too bright and are not usable for astro imaging.
Flashing led Lights are too bright and are not usable for astro imaging. Have painted top of container with Black permanent marker to try to reduce light. If I used electrical tape that would inhibit natural cooling that is if it generates any heat? A star/nebula could take 0hrs to 3+ hrs to image. Smaller led's Any other ideas to also reduce power consumption to decrease battery drainage.Daylight shooting a big 5 stars. *****Night Astronomy With led brightness greatly reduced 5 Stars *****Modem is small and light, Connecting leads are a good length for Aisair plus.Anyway to fix led intensity suggestions would be great appreciated.

Perfect for adding WiFi capability to any consumer device that only has ethernet and USB ports.
This device does exactly what it says on the tin. In my case, that was to set it up as an ethernet to WiFi bridge to my main broadband router (that supplies our internet connectivity) for my Humax DTR-T1000 Youview box, which only has an ethernet network connection, as I wanted to move it to another room where there was no physical network connection. The instruction booklet that came with it covered all the options that this device was capable of and was fairly well written and easy to understand. Within a very short time, I managed to set the device up as bridge/repeater (but I also chose to suppress its associated hotspot that was also available) back to/for my main router (using my smartphone to connect to it initially) then rebooted the device to change its configuration. I finally unplugged it from the USB power connection I was using (just for power) and plugged both cables into the T1000's ethernet and USB ports on its rear. It immediately powered up and "voila!", internet connectivity wirelessly back to my broadband connection. Excellent device and great value for what it does. I can't recommend this highly enough for what it does. (see photo)

perfetto
