Works great with Google Home Assistant

This thing works great with Google Home Assistant. It's a little bit of work to get it all setup but once you've got it all dialed in it's worth it. I couldn't find a ton of concise instructions so I'll just go over the basics.1. Get "Smart Life" app installed. I think you can use "Tuya Smart" but I already had Smart Life for other stuff.2. Add the device to Smart Life. Your smartphone needs to be on 2.4GHz wifi, I had to temporarily disable 5Ghz wifi.3. Program a "DIY" remote in Smart Life. DIY allows you to aim various remotes and record IR commands.4. Hit the Smart tab in Smart Life app and create a "Scenario" for each IR command or list of commands.5. Ask Google Home device to "Sync Smart Life".6. In Google Home app edit your routines, add an "Adjust Scenes" action and you'll see your Scenarios listed.Edit: Step 4.5 if you don't already have Smart Life on your Google Home, just go into the Google Home app, me, settings, assistant, home control, hit plus, find smart life. I didn't originally include this step because I was already using smart life with Google Home for a couple of outlets.

Security flaws.

Requests lots of unneeded permission on Android devices. Stores data unencrypted. Requires an account to work and a login. The device is sending unknown data to a Chinese IP address. I threw it away half way through the set up process.

A bit confusing at first, but then easy-peasy

When first configuring this, you need to log-in to your home Wi-Fi network, which is pretty typical whether it is an Amazon Dot or other Alexa automation device and all the other pieces to it (like lights and plugs, etc.). Right off the bat it asks to "add a device" and it is asking what device you are configuring - the device you purchased, but it has a TON of options (refrigerators, thermostats, even things like smart beds) but it doesn't offer up an option for this specific device, so you have to choose "other" and ensure the device is in "setup mode" by finding the tiny little itty bitty button on the bottom where the power cord goes in (which is only a USB cord, with NO power adapter whatsoever) and holding it down for 5 seconds so that the 1 tiny little green light starts to flash, for all of 2-3 seconds :-) But, once it gets on your Wi-Fi and is paired to the app you downloaded (either Android or Apple) then it is pretty easy going from there, including adding a custom IR device that is not even listed -- you can set it to "DIY" and it creates a new device, then you can essentially point your remote at it, and press one button at a time, giving each button a label and presty - don't know what the device manufacturer is, no problem, just name it whatever, and go trhough each button on the remote, basically this device "records" each's button's IR signal and will broadcast it once you complete the set-up.

Can't Add Devices to Alexa

I got this to control my garage AC via Alexa. I downloaded the Tuya app, set it up per the instructions, named it "Garage Hub", programed it to control the AC, named that "Garage Air". The Tuya app shows "Garage Air" as a device, and I can power the AC on and off. I added the Tuya "skill" to Alexa, but when searching for devices, Alexa only found "Garage Hub" not the "Garage Air" device I don't see any way of linking ANY devices that the hub controls to Alexa. So I can control the device from my phone, but not from Alexa.
