A good melon baller at a very good price
There's not a lot I can say about a melon baller. It works fine, and it was the least expensive one I could find. I do like the two different sizes of balls it makes, which adds a bit of fun to the fruit salads I make. My old (very old, that finally broke) one only made one size, which I did not consider a flaw until I got this one. This one may not last quite as long as the other one, but the price makes that a non-issue. I recommend this one.

Ok for small jobs
This is ok for small jobs but very challenging to do full watermelon or large cantaloupe.

Perfect for tomatoes!!
I love baking tomatoes with herbs and cheeses. I also recently took on canning and wanted to make a chunky tomato sauce. Both of which require "coring" the tomatoes. This is a pain to do with a spoon and tends to mangle the tomatoes, especially if they are small. I purchased this hoping it would work and it did!! I was able to core out the small Romas for cooking in a fraction of the time, they came out perfect for the oven (and yes canning too...but for that you quarter them after coring), and the perfect little hole left held the herbs and cheese. It also helped reduce the amount of liquid that came out of the tomatoes in the oven. HIGHLY RECOMMEND....if you want something that works so well with veggies...and yeah, still works on melons :)

Just what I wanted!
I couldn’t find one like this anywhere in my area! What the heck? So I gave it 2 stars on durability and sturdiness because it is made of thin metal. It’s not super sturdy, but it really does the job!

It makes balls. Can't complain.
Same quality as one you'd find at a Dollar Store, but it worked in a pinch. It makes balls - what more do you need, really?

Makes balls in 2 sizes!
First of all, I like this melon baller much more than I like previous ones I have purchased. Many of them tend to be made poorly and break easily, but I didn't have any trouble out of this one. So far, it has held up to regular use. I love that there are two sizes in one so I could vary things up a little. I used for its intended purpose as a melon baller in preparation for a birthday party, and it worked very well. I also used it to scoop ice cream for my kids (just for fun). It worked well on ice cream that had sat out long enough to soften a little. I'm not sure that it would work as well on harder ice cream. I don't think it would work well with cookie dough as mentioned in the description. I'm not sure how the cookie balls would come out - they won't fall out as easily as melons or ice cream. You may want to rethink it if you're considering it for that purpose. Overall, great quality and great product when used as intended!

Great cutter!
I did not buy this to scoop fruit. I bought it because I needed it for my bready supermarket bagels. I use it to remove some of the bread INSIDE the sliced bagels; which do NOT resemble the bagels I got as a child in Brooklyn, a very long time ago.
