Well I'm not quite sure where to start here. I bought the legals iodine 5% solution which on the website described as 15% and on the bottle it described as 5% with the 10% potassium iodine. Bottle arrived and after doing some research I diluted for external use down to 1% solution bottled it up for any event of a wound or such. Well such occurred and I had a wound on my leg, I applied my 1% solution, the next day the skin was off the wound around every hour I'd place the iodine. I had to go to action emergency who referred me to the burns unit in the next city advising me I may need a skin graft. When I saw the burns unit specialist they suggested that I might have an extreme reaction to iodine (not sure if that's the case but that was their explanation) Yes left me with two scars on my leg which do not look like they will ever go away. As a result I've done further research into the dilution of this iodine and that applications, and I can find precisely zero! The only instruction appears to be on the bottle where it says dilute one drop with 200 milliliters of water, of course that is so weak it won't do squeak. So here are the variables, 1. I messed up the dilution and used a higher concentration then I realized. 2. I did not know that you should not cover over the iodine on the wound and this would have aggravated the outcome. In any of the two above outcomes it would have been very helpful if there was some guidance on using this 5% solution, I could find no input so you're pretty much on your own, get it wrong and you'll be scarred for life! Not saying it's a bad product, just saying lack of information is costly! I don't use the stuff now for anything I've no idea how to use it safely? If anyone can tell me I would be very grateful otherwise you shall sit on the side for a week and then go in the bin expensive and literally painful experience.

Premetto che la mia recensione HA VALORE DI OPINIONE PERSONALE, NON SONO UN MEDICO! Fatta questa premessa, parlo alla luce delle mie ricerche e delle risposte avute da un laureato in farmacologia. La causa scatenante che mi ha fatto acquistare questo prodotto è la paura di un disastro nucleare con conseguente contaminazione da radiazioni e il dubbio che le autorità competenti razionino troppo tardi dosi di iodio per contrastare la contaminazione. Il mondo ha sentito parlare della soluzione di Lugol nel 1986 con l'esplosione alla centrale nucleare di Chernobyl. La soluzione di Lugol è stata quindi somministrata alla popolazione per impedire l'assorbimento dell'isotopo radioattivo dello iodio. In questi casi, il farmaco satura la tiroide di iodio, proteggendola dai danni e riducendo il rischio di cancro alla tiroide. Sul web si trovano moltissimi integratori a base di iodio, ma la percentuale di iodio in essi contenuta è assolutamente inefficace in caso di radiazioni, mentre per un adulto 5 gocce di Soluzione Lugol al 5%, 3 volte al giorno sono la dose per prevenire la contaminazione dell’isotopo radioattivo dello iodio. At first I wanted to make my own Lugol. But the ingrediënts where more expensive than this readily available product. This bottle will last a long time. Very happy with the purchase.

Das ist ein wirklich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ich hatte zu wenig Jod und ich vertrage es leider nicht, Jod oral einzunehmen. Meine Theorie ist, dass Jod eben nicht nur die bösen sondern auch die guten Darmbakterien killt. Ich nehme es daher täglich auf der Haut und meine Jodwerte haben sich nach der Kontrolle (nach ca 6 Monaten) normalisiert. Ich mische die lugolsche Lösung mit Öl, damit die Haut nicht austrocknet. Ich nehme es nicht in den Sommermonaten.
