Wildfire Unicorn (Fire & Rescue Shifters: Wildfire Crew Book 2)

Okay, so this is my first review out of this series, and the previous one with the parents... And 😲! That ending was REMARKABLE!!! I mean, seriously?! Can't wait for the next one! If you haven't read the parents' stories, do so. This series will be SO MUCH more enjoyable. But - even without that, if you're just into the paranormal stuff, this series is still just as fine as a standalone without having read about the parents... But you'll enjoy them, and this series just as much, if not more with the "back" back story. (Especially at the end of the final book!😉) Awesome, awesome read!! I'm now upset with myself because I thought to wait until at least 2 books in the children's legacy stories were out so I could pick up more of what's going to come of their story at one time, but I read them both in less than a day, taking out about 13 hours or so for work (and commute)... And now have to wait until.................. Yeah. "Fall 2019." 😶 September is "Fall," right? 🤔 Maybe? Possibly? Hopefully????? 😏 And it just dawned on me as I'm proofreading this before I hit "submit," that there are quite a few stories ahead of us for this generation... Oh, this IS going to be a phenomenal ride! I can't wait!! 🙃 Zoe Chant - you are a literary genius! Thank you for sharing your gift with the world! 🖖🏾💖

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I buy most of Zoe Chant’s books because I love her HEAs and her style of writing! I have bought this book too! The cover is amazing, but I am very partial to unicorns! I love this spin-off series especially since it is the kids of the original series, but they have their own adventure, and they find their mates along the way! This is the 2nd book in this series, and it is Wystan turn to find his mate. Of course, this is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. The Thunderbird is back as well as a few demons. Wystan must keep an adorable unicorn named Flash safe from everything including herself while trying to woo his mate. Candice has some baggage which complicates things between her and Wystan. This story was action-packed, magical, and amazing! I loved it! Mythical shifters are my favorite! I can’t wait for the next book! I highly recommend to any mythical shifter fans especially if you love Zoe’s work like I do! If you haven’t read her work yet, you should check it out because she has a way with HEAs, action, and shifters!

I'm really enjoying this series. It's wonderful that we now have so many PNR books available, but sometimes it can feel like there's too much similarity. Not so in this series! Our lead characters are wonderfully different with well written personalities, and the author gives us new story ideas that include action, drama, heat, love, and a ton of laughs to round it out. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

So great to see the kids of Fire & Rescue shifters finding their mates. Wystan is such a great character, a unicorn who is trying to find out who he is. Candice is perfect for him with her deeply rooted need to protect animals. Both have a lot to learn about themselves and each other. Flash is another wonderful character. This is a super fast paced story, with a hopeful tone and a character oriented storyline with some action and mildly steamy scenes. The characters are vivid and endearing. I can't wait to read Joe's story next, except that I need to get through spring and summer first, as it comes out this fall. Read the Fire & Rescue Shifters series in order first, and then these in order, and prepare to be blown away! Enjoy!

I liked this book. Not as much as the first in the series but I did. I had some difficulties with it though (somewhat spoiler alert), I felt that the main chars could be wishy washy- a little bit. First while the female lead dealt with her past she kept throwing up road blocks for her mate. This isn't e-h@rm$y you know...true mates are a done deal. And while I appreciate working towards that end and not just jumping to happily ever after it felt like whe just, kept her walls up. Period. I mean let us in a little please? And the other thing was the Male lead, after making the point over and over again that she was perfect, just the way she is...he doesn't follow his own advice and he also betrays her trust. Not majorly but enough that I felt someone should have called HIM on it. Will I read this again? Most likely. There was humor in it and fun new takes on unicorns. This was not a steamy romance, there was enough mention of "mating" not to be Christian clean, but had some moments to make it interesting. I look forward to the next one.

Maybe it's those leftover little-girl unicorn fantasies that did it, or maybe it was the uber-HOT imagery of Wystan on the front cover...but this book struck ALLLL the heartstrings and then some! From the last line of the first book when they discovered little cutie Flash, I could NOT wait to read this novel! I got it as soon as I saw it had released and read it in less than one day! EXCELLENT book, storyline and the base lesson is even better....that love, even the type of love that parents have for a baby, can be healing and conquer evil. The painful background Candice had made me want to pummel any guy who would do that to a girl who loves purely and innocently. Such a long road to healing. Wystan learning about his true power was phenomenal! Discovering the hidden unicorns was jaw-dropping amazing. I adore Zoe Chant's books but this one is seriously my new favorite of ALL her published works. Both the initial Fire & Rescue series and now the Wildfire series are my favorite sets she has come out with! Long live the fire squads!!

Wystan is a hotshot firefighter him and the crew have been called out o California to help stop a big fire. While there they find a baby unicorn natural not a shifter she needs help getting out of a thicket of thorny bushes. Once they get her out now they need to get her help so Wystan takes her back to base camp because there is a vet there to help rescue the animals from the fire. Candice is the animal rescue veterinary so when Wystan sets eyes on her he can’t believe he has just found his mate. On he just needs to find away to make her his. But the demonic monsters at out there trying to get power by inhabiting a powerful shifter. So enjoy the read and see what happens!!

Good story lessened by typos, wrong words, and errors that should have been caught during editing and proof reading. Too bad.
