Firstly, this comes in a metal case, which is very welcome. I’ve used this a few times now and had no problems. The drills have worked absolutely fine, the taps too. No problem fitting the inserts though the tang at the bottom doesn’t always break off when it should, though it’s not caused a problem. So far it has made repairing damaged threads a breeze, the installed inserts have worked great. Last repair was a coolant pipe retaining bolt on an engine. It was quick, easy, the bolt went in first time after the repair was made and no leaks. Highly recommended!

This is a great kit that has pulled me thru some tough repairs on internal threads! There are way more inserts than I will ever use but it’s great knowing I am covered in the instance that I might need one for an emergency! I repaired a few threads in my motorcycle subframe that seem to always be a problem when threading in steel bolts into an aluminum frame! Worked great and saved me from a trip to the dealership for a more expensive repair. I have also used them to install handles on my tractor and made a cue ball shift knob for my car with the inserts. For anyone curious, pool balls need helical insert or the bolts will shatter the threads! Kit comes with the appropriately sized drill bit, helicoil specific Tap (this is not a regular thread sized tap), helicoil Installation tool, and helicoils in several sizes. I Highly suggest this kit to any mechanic or DIY person because sooner or later you will need it!

This is a good quality set in a good quality metal case. However, a tap wrench is not included. The product box says it contains a wrench and the photos shows the product box with this listed, but there is no wrench, as many other reviewers have called out. Note that the square ends of the taps in this set are under and above 1/4" which may mean you have to buy two wrenches to make full use of it... and they aren't particularly cheap.

Good quality for the price! Comes in a METAL case which I will take over plastic any day. The product is very straightforward to use and is very handy! This set includes all the common sizes, making it perfect for stripped soft aluminum threads.

It works good, but I think the bits for drilling will have to be replaced sooner than expected after a several uses.

This kit is a life saver - I work on a lot of euro cars and majority of them have aluminum blocks or heads and over zealous mechanics who like to crank down on bolts instead of following the torque specs. - It you know how to use a Helicoil set this thing is easy as can be. All the tools are included “minus the drill and tap handle” -Plenty of replacement coils to last a while and everything has its own little slot for storage -My only complaint is I wish they latch on the lid was a little more durable or clasped differently as it’s came open twice in transport now and left me picking and sorting pieces which is more my fault than the design I guess

I damaged my cycling shoes cleat thread and was looking for a DIY solution as the shoes is an expensive brand , was not sure of the helicoil fix , i did all the research i need and decided to go for it , i ordered this helicoil kit that includes the M5x0.8 size that am looking for , when received the order i was really impressed with the high quality of the box and the tools included, the helicoil, threading tool , helicoil insert and the helicoil bags that come with each size , i only needed the M5 size but the kit includes multiple helicoil sizes and tools for each size. The procedure i was going to do on the shoe is like a surgical and critical as there is a carbon insole and i need to be very careful while drilling, i was hesitant to start it but then i went for it and did the job. The result is new thread better and stronger than the original thread . Very happy with the result, cleat are back again in place with very tight screw like new .. i recommend this kit for whoever is looking for a thread repair option just research it first and plan your procedure according to the job. One last thing the price of that kit of 48 AED is the cheapest among the online after checking different options, quality wise this is killer kit for someone who is not looking for half solutions… solid 5 stars rating

Very helpful and easy to use, do the job. Good quality tool. I was fixing my boat engine threads in aluminium engine block. I broke down 7 bolts while disassembling engine head, 4 threads were damaged. Using this tool I fixed 1st thread within 15 minutes and 3 others no more than 5 min on each.

Works well, complete
