Excellent for a low price!!!
First of all, before buying this radio, I examined the most recent reviews before making my purchase and noticed not a lot of great ratings. However, I thought I'd buy it anyway just to see how it worked. I was very pleased to find that the wires were all labeled and ready to go! That helped speed up the process of hardwiring my car. I've been without a radio for 6 months in my Mazda Tribute 2003z Ripped out my factory one because it was absolutely useless. Not even the radio function worked amongst the other functions of the tape and CD player. Second of all, it was affordable for Bluetooth and the phone and Bluetooth work very well. Occasionally it gets confused when you switch the Bluetooth off and back too quick on so it will freeze and not make any sound but the simple cure to that is like any tother technology or computer. Turn it off then back on. The sound quality is great, I love the control, and all the options and memory work very good. I believe it's an amazing quality and function for just $35 plus shipping. My personal Christmas gift before I take a trip. If you don't like it, you're just picky and need to learn to be content with what you get. A radio, (believe it or not) is a huge blessing to me. Especially with not being able to afford one for a while with the other repairs needed for my car. THANK YOU AMAZON AND BOSS! :D

Easy to install and easy to setup
Ordered this to replace the stock stereo in my honda CR-V. Will need to read what color wires go where cause I did find that one of the rear speakers do not match. But nothing to be a deal breaker at all with this awesome little stereo. Was able to install and setup everything with no problems. Only took a few seconds to setup bluetooth with my phone and no problems with sound from my phone or when listening to the radio. would buy again for sure. *UPDATE 08/30/2020* so the only problem I have randomly is when using blue tooth on my phone with this radio. It will randomly stop my music. Mostly does this when I get into the car and just start playing music. Does not do this with my wife's phone just mine but over not a huge problem. Radio is still working just fine besides that and even the USB port handles phone charging well. So a good buy for a simple upgrade for anyone honestly.

A decent unit for simple needs, and nice to have the Bluetooth Hands Free feature!
Since cost was a major factor in my car audio choice, I made the mistake of purchasing a Klarheit first (don't do it!), and ended up exchanging it for the Boss 625UAB. It was a little more expensive than the Klarheit, which was why I didn't choose it first--but all I wanted from the start was a way to play MP3s from a USB flash drive in my car. I didn't want to mess with my phone or an MP3 player to do it, either. The Klarheit couldn't manage that simple task. So, after looking over my options, and not wanting to spend too much, I settled on this. I've just installed it, and here's my preliminary review: USB: While it lacks an easy search function, it does at least let me skip from one album (Directory) to the next, so if I have an idea of the general whereabouts of an album on the drive, I can track it down. It accesses the files in the order they were written to the drive. This means that if you copy your whole library at once, alphabetically, you'll have an easier time finding your stuff. If you add a new album, you have to go to the highest numbered files to find it. Having said that, I had no problem actually getting there (something I can't say for the Klarheit). I used the remote to type in the high track number (something like 1600), and quickly found what I was after. Unfortunately, if I don't happen to know where the song is on the flash drive, it's going to take a little hunting to find it. Still, at least navigation isn't awful, and yes, it does display MP3 info, which at least helps in figuring out what directory you're in. Bluetooth Hands Free: I easily connected my phone to the BOSS, and tried a quick call to a friend to test it. She said the connection had a little static and was a bit quiet on her end, but she could hear me clearly enough, and I could hear her well once I turned up the volume on the unit. I placed the call with the phone, and hung up with the button on the BOSS. It worked fine, and I'm pleased to have this feature. Sound Quality: For me, the sound quality seems fine, but I don't have the ear for music that some people do. As far as I can tell, the sound is clear, the volume capabilities are good, and I'm pleased with it. Radio: I used an antenna converter, and hooked up the radio, but haven't found any stations yet. I don't listen to radio, so I actually don't really care, and I'm not sure if the reception problem is due to the converter, the fact I was sitting in my garage, the fact that I just didn't spend much time trying to find a station, or the unit itself (but I doubt the unit is the problem). If I figure it out, I'll let you know...but it's not actually a priority for me. I almost didn't bother hooking it up at all. Display: Basic. Info scrolls across, and MP3 info includes track/artist/album. At night and in the shade, it's easy to read, but in my car at least, it gets a bad glare during the day that makes it very difficult to read unless I'm in the shade. Clock: The clock does not display continually or alternately, as far as I can tell so far. You have to hit the Display button to check the time. A bit of a pain, but not the end of the world. When I have a chance, I'll see if there's a way to change that. SD: I haven't tried it yet. Removable face plate: Haven't tried it yet. Overall impression: This is a very simple unit, with a clean design. It serves my purposes so far, although I do wish I could easily search my music library by artist or album. Since I had originally been looking for just the ability to play MP3s, the Bluetooth Hands Free feature is something I consider a bonus, and I'm glad I decided to return the Klarheit and spend a few extra dollars on the BOSS. Definitely worth the minor cost difference!

Everyone with a smart phone needs a Bluetooth car stereo.
I replaced a one year old car stereo with this and am very pleased. I replaced the old unit because its aux input did not work well. I bought this unit because of its Bluetooth capability and have not been disappointed. I listen almost exclusively to Audible books and recorded music stored on my phone, broadcast to this unit via bluetooth. Uninterrupted music pleasure. Long trips that pass quickly when listening to a good book. The quality of the sound and the power level are at least as good as my car speakers, even after upgrading the front speakers to improve the sound. -----Update on May 8, 2015------ Still love it. I have been using the USB interface to play music, and that works well but with one caveat: You cannot leave the USB stick in the player. The unit will only go into USB player mode by inserting the USB stick. I think the same is true for the SD card interface but have not yet used it. I worry about that because the micro usb socket on my phone is starting to wear out from charging it. Luckily my phone accepts a wireless charger which I have switched to. I think I am going to leave a USB extension plugged into the unit, and plug the stick into that. Also, look in the manual for how to select the equalizer to use for different kinds of music, eg rock, classical, etc. It is not obvious how to do that. You start by pressing the vol knob for more than 2 seconds.

-1 Stars. Lasted barely two years.
I don't usually write reviews, however, my experience with this product was so piss-poor that I was compelled to do so. First thing I noticed immediately is that the Bluetooth function is a gimmick. The sound quality is very VERY poor. This was one of the reasons that I purchased it. I had this mad idea in my head that I could stream music from my iPhone while in my car so I can work with playlists depending on my mood. Note that the quality is poor regardless of the actual bitrate of the song. Moving to the SD card slot, the device is extremely particular about how files are arranged and more importantly, named on the card. If the file name is too long or contains characters it doesn't like (but which are legal for the FAT32 naming system) the song won't play. It will just get stuck at that track and do absolutely nothing. I will say that songs that do play via the SD card are of decent quality. The USB slot is a joke. This product is supposed to be compatible with Apple playback devices, including the iPhone, but I have never been able to successfully make a connection. It will charge a device in a pinch, that's all it is good for. The phono port, well it operates as expected, though I think a digital vs analogue connection would provide better sound quality. With all the other various features available, I shouldn't need to resort to the phono port. Now, move to about a week ago, the device began acting erratically. The audio would spontaneously blast to MAX, scaring the &$@! out of me while I am driving. I turn it down back to a decent level when it is safe to do so, and it does it again, except this time, it decided to dial down to ZERO before returning to MAX. It does this every day now. I thought the faceplate contacts were corroded or dusty, so I inspected it, and they were shiny like new. Well they should be since I haven't removed the face since it was installed. I don't listen to the radio so I can't comment on that feature. I don't accept calls while I'm driving, even in hands free mode (neither should you), so I cannot comment on that feature or the quality of the built in microphone. Long story short. Don't buy this unless you want to risk running into the problems that I've faced. Don't buy this if being able to stream via Bluetooth with HIGH quality is important to you. Don't buy this if you want to be able to connect your Apple device via USB. Don't buy this if you want your investment to last longer that two short years. Heck, there are stereo decks made in the 70s and 80s that I've seen that still work and play cassette tapes, for goodness sake! Save your money, spend a little more for something higher quality. Don't do what I did and cheap out to buy this. In this case, price vs quality DOES matter. I'm very disappointed in this product, now I need to buy another deck. (Sigh)

Installed in a 2001 f150 seems to work well
I was going to buy one of those 12 volts plug-in fm convert/ bluetooth things for my truck which is a 2001 f150. After thinking up about it and looking at the prices I decaded for 20 bucks more I could just change out the stereo. I ordered this unit with a Mettra 70-1771 radio wire harness, stereo removal tool and a new mounting kit. The mounting kit was going to be delivered seprate and will not be here till next week, so I hooked it up without it. On my truck there are 2 plugs, a 16 pin and a 20 pin connectors. The stereo only uses the 16 pin. I wasted about 1/2 hour or more thinking that is where the power came from it but it does not. I am not sure what the 20 pin is for but it does not seem to matter. I hooked up the wires and plugged it in and it worked. The bluetooth took a couple of minutes for my phone would find it and it did. I thought it sound good but I am old and my hearing is not want it used to be. I would agree about some other reviews I read about this unit on the buttons, they are small especially the blue tooth phone pick up and hang up so I would have to hunt for them if I used it when I was driving. I was just planning on using the USB connection to charge my phone when using the bluetooth however when I plug my phone into the usb connector then the blue tooth feature disappears. Maybe I could play everything through the usb but I am not sure how to do that. Never the less the charging cord in the lighter still works fine for charging the phone. I am pretty sure the mount bracket will be easy to install the stereo in so I am not going to up date this just for that. I gave it 5 stars since it was everything it showed it was when I bought it even the small buttons. I think the newer model fixed that but it cost a little more and Iam too cheap to spend a whole 20 bucks.

Bluetooth Quality is Lacking
Installation and setup was fast and easy. I've never installed a car stereo before this one, and I didn't run into any problems; anyone can do it. The sound is crisp and clear from the radio, phone (BT pairing), SD card, and AUX cable. I have no issues adjusting the bass, treble, balance, and fade, but the volume when crazy when I tried to scroll through the tracks on the SD card. The knob knob only increased the volume, and I had to disconnect the face plate in order to reset the system. The cost of the unit more than makes up for the minor issues, which I can deal with. The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because the audio quality while playing music using Bluetooth is very poor. I purchased the unit for streaming music from my phone over Bluetooth, and it's very unfortunate that this is the unit's weakest aspect. I tried moving the the BT antenna into a better position, and it didn't make a difference. That said, the price was right, and I'm happy with its features. It's a huge upgrade from a tape deck. EDIT: The volume issue is becoming a huge issue. It randomly, unexpectedly, increases to "max". In addition to being slightly embarrassing, it is very distracting while driving. I think there might be a short between the metal contacts between the faceplate and the in-dash unit. The buttons sometimes don't do what they're labeled to do, then randomly switch back, which could indicate a cross wiring or short. I'm crossing my fingers that I can contact the manufacturer, replace the unit, or fix it by hardwiring the faceplate to the unit.

Great bang for your buck!!
I bought this stereo for my 99 Ford F-150 to replace the OEM. I was able to get this stereo from the Amazon Warehouse Deals for only around $14 bucks. When I got it, I am almost certain it was new and everything was sealed. I have been using this for about a month or so now and haven't had any problems with it. The install was super simple, only taking around 45 min. Changing out the stereo made the sound quality of my speakers so much better and louder. The Bluetooth works really great and automatically connects to my phone and will continue playing my music if I leave it open in my phone. Every once and a while the Bluetooth cuts off for a sec and turns back on, which doesn't really bother me...especially for the price. One thing that bothers me a little about the design is that the clock doesn't stay on, so if you want to see what time it is you have to press DISP and then it stays up for 5 seconds and goes away. I also am having a hard time accessing the BND button. I imagine this is suppose to be to adjust the band...but when I press it nothing happens. It might just be user error, or I might have a defective unit...still doesn't bother me enough to return it. Buttons feel a little cheap and the volume knob is a little fickle. Overall for the price of this stereo, it is a great entry level stereo if you are trying to push a little more power to your speakers and want Bluetooth, USB, and AUX features.

Boss Audio. Excelente calidad-precio

Do not purchase this product - BOSS audio system
I purchased this product in when in Dubai. When I arrived in my home country I proceeded to install this audio system in my car. I've done a few installation in my time, and this was the first for this brand. First of all, the fuse that is connected at the back was burnt. I had to purchase a new one. Then once I got it all connected, and turned the power of my car on, the audio system did not work. I checked the system via a separate connection, and I can claim that the audio system was faulty. Somehow Amazon Dubai still shipped it out🤷. If its a lesson learnt, is to never purchase electronic goods on Amazon.
