M-1003 Freedom Elite Scuba Diving Mask

After receiving the mask I used the toothpaste trick on the inside to remove any remaining protective layer from the mask that may cause any issues fogging. Before the dive I gave it a good spit rub and rinse prior to putting it on and had no issues with fog. I did not experience any leaks from the mask and the large skirt was comfortable. I flooded the mask to see what clearing it was like and had no issue. Remember though, if you're diving with a hood/cold water, don't forget to pull the hood over the mask skirt so the skirt seal is against your skin and under the hood or the mask will leak. The large skirt with this mask makes that a little more troublesome a mask with a smaller skirt but if you're trained in cold water you'll be familiar with this issue. All in all, for me it performed well and I have no complaints or regrets with my purchase. I'm sure it'll last many years. Just remember to take care of your equipment. Dive safe, have fun!

I recently purchased the TUSA M-1003 Freedom Elite Scuba Diving Mask with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. The primary issue I encountered with this mask was persistent leaking, which significantly impacted my enjoyment and confidence during dives. Despite multiple attempts to achieve a proper seal and adjust the mask according to the provided instructions, I consistently faced leakage problems. It's disheartening to invest in a supposedly high-quality diving mask only to be constantly interrupted by water entering the mask. This issue not only affects visibility but also diminishes the overall diving experience. The fit of the mask, despite its touted "Freedom Technology," did not live up to expectations. I found it challenging to achieve a snug and leak-free seal, even after experimenting with various adjustments. The silicone skirt seemed prone to leaking, especially around the nose area. A larger flange under the nose area would solve this issue. (We replaced both our TUSA masks with VADER and have had zero issues). In conclusion, if a secure and leak-free fit is a priority for you, I would caution against choosing the TUSA M-1003 Freedom Elite Scuba Diving Mask. While it may have redeeming qualities, the consistent leaking issues overshadow its potential benefits, and I would recommend exploring alternative options for a more satisfying diving experience.

When I open the bag, I found 2 different people hairs stuck in the Diving mask

Did not seal my face so be prepared to return it. In their defense, not every mask seals and your face may vary.

Excellent mask, very comfortable & visibility is great. easy to adjust. You definitely need to clean the film off the inside or it will fog, I didn't do it and the first dive the mask fogged right up. I cleaned it with water, cheap white toothpaste and a soft toothbrush and it's been fine ever since. Like all TUSA masks that I've seen, because of it's construction it's somewhat more difficult to pinch your nose to equalize but I soon got used to it. I bought it to replace my Poseidon mask which was split lens and I didn't like the centre frame pressing into my head, this mask is far more comfortable.
