Good for smaller fish
*update 4/2/25- the seller contacted me after I submitted my original review and offered a refund AND upgraded replacement. I didn’t contact this seller nor plan on reaching out for any type of refund or compensation. For this, I’m giving a 5 star review. Great customer service! And I’m excited for my son to try out his new net. Net appeared to be sturdy and I bought this since it was compact and could easily be carried in my son’s fishing bag. Unfortunately, it snapped in half the first time he used it. I’m giving 3 stars because he hooked an 8 lb trout and I believe under different circumstances this net would have been just fine (smaller fish). I don’t regret the purchase, but will be looking for something more sturdy to replace this one.

Convenient for the hike to fishing spots!
5 stars because it is exactly what it says it is. 3 stars for the purchaser for not reading the description. It's a great net. It is definitely going to work for smaller fish, which was honestly what it was purchased for. In my head, I could use it to pull 20 pound fish out of the river. I don't think the capacity and construction would be a good fit for that. But. pulling some 3-8 pounders out of the water. Definitely. Honestly. Kind of exited to take it out this summer for our shad fishing. We hike out on rocks, and having this folded up in my pocket is gonna ROCK!!

Item Broke, But The Company Made It Right
Update: The company reached out and issued me a refund as well as a new net free of charge. 10/10 customer service, I’m glad to see a company stand behind their product. The new net has worked extremely well and I couldn't recommend it enough. Total junk. It snapped while landing a 5 pound catfish. Maybe this one was just a dud, but to have an item break on the first use while being used for its intended purpose is simply unacceptable.

Reasonably Priced Light Weight Telescoping Fish Net
I have not yet had the opportunity to try this product on an actual fishing excursion; however, my indoor inspection and testing of the product have left me very satisfied. The folding and telescoping features of the net and pole are easy to utilize. And the pole appears to be reasonably sturdy when fully extended. The product is compact and light enough to be an easy addition to my backpacking gear for my longer hiking trips into the wilderness. It is also easy to attach externally to the daypack that I use to carry my fishing gear when I am driving to a fishing location. It would be nice if the product came with a velcro strap to wrap the net tightly around the collapsed pole when it is being transported. Another nice addition would be a stuff sack to compress and protect the netting when it is being transported in a backpack or other gear carrying bag. These items are easy to buy separately and I will do so to help keep this equipment protected. As most of the fish I catch weigh under 5 lbs with only a few of the bass or catfish I am lucky to catch even roughly approaching 10 lbs.; I believe the netting will be sturdy enough to hold whatever I catch without sustaining any tears or damage. However, for someone who wants to use this net to land bigger fish, I would think they may encounter some problems with the net tearing. In summary, this is a pretty good and easily transportable fishing net for a very reasonable price.

Cheap, broke first use.
Cheap product! My ten year old was scooping minos from our local lake in the open sandy beach area, no sea weed, and the handle snapped under the sheer weight if the water. He wasn't even close to the bottom of the lake or in the shoreline. About 3 feet out in open water at Eagle lake, in Michigan. Playing around toddlers, so he wasn't being rough at all. My son is only 80 lbs, and plays pretty gently with his things. It boggles my mind the metal just snapped! The handle is glued onto the net base, but the way that it came off it didn't slide off. It split the metal down the middle of the shaft about two inches as it came off, so I wasn't able to put it back on, or glue it together. And it doesn't extend. The length you see is the length you get. So I couldn't cut the handle shaft and glue it as a slightly shorter handle. Just no options but to return. I wish I still had the handle of the broken one to take a picture of, but my husband (father of five sons, and Pop Pop to one grandson) had the instinct to throw the sharp object away as we left the lake. Good idea Dad, but now I don't have proof of what it looked like as it broke. It was very jagged and dangerous. I bought two because I also have an 11 year old, but I'm returning both while I have the chance and sporting for the better brand that's twice as much. Total waste of time and money. Glad I was right there when it broke, because it was very sharp, and like I said, toddlers were around.

Pole is weak.
It's ok. Cheap but pole bends under heavy weight. Not strong enough for big fish that fight. Pond fishing is perfect but not lake or bigger

Upgraded by supplier to newer net
UPDATED Review - supplier contacted me and offered full refund with no return AND an upgraded net to aircraft aluminum handle. New net is a lot sturdier and easier to extend the handle. Have not used it yet but feel confident it will perform well. Great customer service. Original review - Broke on first use. Handle fell off (was only glued on) when netting a small fish less than 1lb. Then the aluminum shaft bent and snapped in half on a 10lb fish. Too cheaply made.
