so we had a good grasp on dogtown and the z boys
I bought this for my husband's birthday because he skates and likes the story of dogtown. We already own both the documentary and the dramatization, so we had a good grasp on dogtown and the z boys. The magazine articles are really interesting, but the best part of this book is definitely the photos. Even those not interested in skateboarding would find this book interesting and the photographs compelling.

A vert skating origins story; so if it's near and dear to your heart, this is for you.
I haven't actually read the book yet but it came in good shape and knowing the good reputation of the movie style DVD they came out with about the Z Boys and the documentary style DVD they also came out with, I'm sure it's an engaging read start to finish.

Gift purchase that I can enjoy
I bought this book as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. I love the pictures but have not gotten around to reading the stories yet. If you were a skater in SoCal during this time period, you should check it out.

The perfect addition to any skateboarding library. If you grew up with SkateBoarder Magazine in the '70's, this will bring back a lot of great memories! Some of the best photos ever taken!

COOL BOOK!
This is a great coffee table book with great pictures of an era that had so much style! Anyone would have fun looking through it.

If, like me, you started skating in the 1970's and idolised all the Dog Town dudes then this is for you. I had a full set of 'Skateboarder' magazines which I sold a few years ago (admittedly for a premium price) but I do miss those old mags. This book holds all the best photos and articles from the 1970s era and makes up for the loss of those classic magazines. Highly recommended.
