For me personally, it is a slow-release.I need to take this WAY AHEAD of time before bed. But once I'm asleep, it keeps me asleep.So if I guess if you've had problems "staying alsleep" then take this, but if your bed time is 11pm, I'd suggest taking this at 7pm or 7:30. You'll need to be at home relaxing four hours before bedtime and I also take this with Valerian Root products. If you don't you'll have a pretty difficult time trying to stay awake for the first half of your work day. Once again, "slow release" but this stuff works if you take it early enough.
