Yes, and it handles everything I've thrown at it. Google Print and Eprint, double side printing - awesome feature I never had on this price printer. 250 pages of 8 12 x 11 and 11 x 17 - paper filling is just about non-existent.

Can you print on custom sizes? For example, if you have an odd sized envelope, can you print on it if it is not too big?

The printer has many sizes available including a 'user defined' option. I use the standard 8-1/2" x 11" and the 11 x 17 regularly with no problem. I had trouble getting it to work on the 12 x 18, partly because of the CAD program I was trying to print from, but I got it to work. If you're good with computers I think you could get it to work on most anything. It's really a great printer.

Can you print from an iPad directly to the printer without the PC having to be on?

Yes. As long as modem/internet connection is on and you have set up the device to print. It prints wirelessly to the printer, without accessing the computer.
