I bought this TP‑Link PCIe WiFi adapter to get an older Dell Precision workstation connected to my home network, and it couldn’t have been easier. It comes with a low‑profile bracket in the box, which is handy if you’re working with a smaller case. Installation was straightforward, slot it in, power up, and it was recognised straight away without any fuss. For the price, the quality is exactly what I expect from TP‑Link. Nothing flashy, just solid, reliable kit for home use that does what it’s supposed to. The connection has been solid since installing it, no random dropouts or messing around with driversall the time. I don’t really have any complaints. If you’re after a simple, affordable way to add Wi‑Fi to an older machine.

Easy to install and works fine with good range and fast speeds. Drivers can be downloaded online and install quickly as well as work ok. Only issue I have is (most likely a driver issue) that they sometimes randomly disconnect from my wifi. This can interrupt gaming or calls but can be fixed by simply reconnecting from the Wi-Fi menu. Please be aware of this before you buy. This card also has a heat sink on it, this greatly improves performance. Overall, a good product that is worth the money.

Installation of the card was simple like any other expansion card, my experience is based on Windows 10 so software issues may not be an issue on newer versions. Straight out of the box the card was detected and installed with no issues and I was able to connect to my network, however every 15 minutes or so it would drop the connection and I would need to reboot the computer to get it reconnected. Checking the device manager I see that the driver windows installed was very out of date (2016) so I downloaded the newest software from the TP Links website, installed the updated driver and I have had no issues since. Updating drivers should be done anyway but I know some people sometimes forget so if you have this card and are having connection drop issues, try updating. Other than that the ecard has been fast and reliable.

Bought a cheap and as it turned out, nasty unbranded PCI-E WiFi board from a Chinese supplier on a "well known auction site". Didn't work... Did it properly and bought a branded item from Amazon - it cost me a little more, but just plugged it in and it works. Achieving around 120Mb/s throughput on a desktop on a BT FTTP 150Mb/s connection - so would say it works as it should. Conclusion... can't go wrong buying a proper branded item.

I have recently relocated my home office out of the loft, with a wired connection, to the dining room, with no wired connection. Needing my PC to be connected to the internet and having a small child, I decided to purchase a wireless adaptor for my PC. (Note; I would sorely recommend just forking out that little bit extra for wifi enabled motherboard...). As I needed it quite quickly, I looked at the average reviews, and this ticked all the boxes. Didn't need anything overly fast, and TP-Link was a brand that I recognised, and that has served me well with previous products. Installation of the product was easy, straight in a spare PCIe slot, no troubles. Downloaded the most recent drivers direct from the website on another machine, installed onto my main machine and 1 bar of signal. Not a good sign. Moved the machine, still 1 bar. Checked two laptops in the same location, 4 bars. I did some googling, only to discover that if you search the model AC1200 you can find pages on the TP-link forums that advise to install a different driver, to the TP-Link recommended one. Alarm bells were ringing, how can another manufactors driver work better than the actual companies that is distributing its product under its name. Anyway, because I needed it to work, I downloaded the recommended driver (From 2016...) and it worked. Not ideal, but hey, it worked. That was two days ago. Booted up the machine this evening, and the card was showing me no wireless networks. Tried reseating the card, tried re-installing the drivers, and it worked for a while, and then I had to do it all over again. Frustrated, I looked at the actual reviews, and in about 2 minutes of looking I found two reviews recommending other drivers to install to make the card work, and still recomending the card, I don't understand. To me, when you buy a relatively simple card from a company like TP-Link you expect it work straight out the packet. You do not expect to have to install drivers from other companies such as ASUS to get the card to "work". This is a product still being sold, that a number of reviewers have connection issues on Windows 10, a product that claims to be Windows 10 compatible, yet it has not had an updated driver since 2019. Once I have submitted this review, it's going back in the box and I will be returning the product. Do not waste your time like I have.

So I have this card a while and it's been stable and usable, however today I decided to upgrade to fibre Internet with a nice new router provided by my isp. Due to restrictions in other countries this card has its 5ghz channels locked so if you find like me you wifi card is slow as it's not connecting to your 5ghz connection you will have to go into your router settings and dictate that the 5ghz band only uses lower number channels I think under 140 or 130! Other wise the card simply won't see or connect via 5ghz and will fall back to 2.4ghz! I have reached out to tp in regards to this and am awaiting a response. Now on my old router I could simply as mentioned change the channel number, however my new router has been locked down by my isp! This has taken many hours of driver updates and scouring the Internet to no avail!!

10/10 Great high speed internet easy installation and great range and value for money.

Sometimes the simple things do it the best. I bought this to (obviously) add WI-FI capabilities to an existing computer, it was on sale at the time and was a great price. However, I was not expecting it to perform so well! It is a PCi card so installation requires the opening of a computer and fitting into a spare slot, something to note if you are not comfortable but YouTube can help you here. Once installed, Windows added the required drivers automatically and Wi-Fi was available. At the time I was in a part of the house that usually does not have perfect Wi-Fi but this received full signal, and that was surprising but certainly not unwelcome. Overall, if you are looking to add wireless connectivity and don't want to break the bank, but you DO want excellent performance; I could not recommend this highly enough.

Funcionaba bien pero después de dos semanas empezó a fallar y ahora ya no agarra nada la señal. La verdad una gran decepción.

This is a very easy card to install and get running.

Connected to the WIFI but never gained internet access, tried everything, did not work.

This works really well. I feel the heatsink was overkill but it is what it is, Not a bad adapter card and works well.
