Vornado 154 Whole Room Air Circulator Tower Fan, 32", Black

Have had mine for two days, and I was amazed! I was prepared for it to be really loud, but it is NOT! In fact, on the highest setting, I would like it to make more noise. (But I like a loud fan to sleep with; this one wouldn't be loud enough for me on high.) I was AMAZED at the difference in temperature in my house when I got home from work. I keep the temperature up at 85 while I'm gone in the summer, and I had this fan on the second setting. When I got home, my son had turned it up to the highest setting about half an hour before I got home at 6:30, and I couldn't believe the difference in temperature! So far, this thing is fantastic! I really like the timer on it, too, it's very handy. (I've never had a fan before with a timer!) The remote works well. VERY happy with this purchase!

This exceeded my expectations. It is a unique design and spreads out the air instead of needed to rotate. Its a bit noisy on top speed but does not bother me at all. Very handy remote control It was pretty easy to assemble. I like this a lot and recommend it

This fan is very powerful! We have had it for over a year and it is still going strong with no problems. It comes with a little remote which is handy (it also magnetizes to the top of the fan). The timer is nice for setting the fan at bedtime. My only complaint is that it does not rotate. The fan is powerful though that you really don't need it to rotate. The settings can be very low to strong. It is noisy but great if you like fan noise while sleeping -it is a steady noise so you do get used to it. Overall I am happy with our purchase.

I just got my Vornado 154 Whole Room Tower Fan today. I was a little concerned when I saw the box had a little bit of smashed area on it, but when I opened it, the product was safely packed and in new condition. Minor assembly required, three pieces and 4 screws (screwdriver required and not provided), very easy to put together. Plugging it in, it automatically started on its highest setting, level four, and it is noisy. I would not be able to sleep with it at that level but on the plus side it does push a large volume of air out. Putting it at level three I can still hear it but it's manageable. I could carry a conversation near it at that level and not have a hard time hearing. It's pretty quiet at level two and still pushing enough air that I can feel it 10 ft away. On level one it's quieter than my clock but not really pushing the air rather than just circulating it. What I like about it is that it blows air everywhere in front. Great for spreading the air around an entire room. I have it near a window to pull in the air from outside my apartment. Within an hour on level three, my apartment was roughly the same temp as outside, usually there's a four or five degree difference. Lots of volume flow. What I dislike about it is the highest setting seems to be a bit too powerful for the fan. I feel like if I ran it at that setting often the fan would die very quickly. Also the inlet vents are right next to the outlet. I am sure it has something to do with the way the fan blades accelerate the air but I'm not able to directly point the inlet to a window and have the outlet blowing toward the center of the room. Despite this, it seems to have done its job, namely cool my room, so I am still very satisfied

I have only been using this fan for a week and am very pleased with it so far. After reading many reviews stating that it was very noisy on high speed I was a bit worried, but alas! It's not very loud at all and we have no problem carrying on normal conversations with it going on full speed, although truthfully, we find that the medium speed is sufficient to provide the cooling that is needed. I love the small footprint and the lightweight portability that allows us to simply grab it by the inset "handle" and swing it around to cool the kitchen, then back around to cool the dining room while we eat in comfort. The old fan we were using was constantly getting tripped over or knocked over by the dogs or clumsy adults because it took up so much room. This one tucks nicely in an inconspicuous and out of the way spot. Many reviewers suggested sliding a pantyhose leg over it to keep out the dust and make it easier to keep clean and I have every intention of doing that, just haven't yet. It would be major improvement if the manufacturer were to make a way to take it apart for cleaning, but I still give this a five star rating because of the incredible cooling power.

I purchased two of these based on the reviews, but they are just ok...nothing spectacular. They are easy to assemble (just screw on the base with included screws), come with a remote, and have four fan speed settings, and four directional settings. My remote doesn't really work unless I am fairly close or almost on top of the unit. The fan does not move (oscillate), but I guess the directional wind comes from one of the four settings. The first two fan speed settings are pretty useless for any cooling, but on high speed, and using the 4th directional setting, the room eventually cooled down (about a 21' X 23' area). I still preferred my oscillating fan over this one. By the way, great for noise to keep in the kids room to help them sleep.

We really like the air circulation with this Vornado 154. The highest speed is a little loud for sleeping but the two lowest are perfect for us. The fan is attractive and it was very easy to set-up. One complaint is a slight smell of lubricating oil. I really don't notice it while I'm in the room with the fan but I really notice it when I first enter the room in which the fan is running. I am really hoping that it dissipates. I'll post a new review in a few weeks with an update. UPDATE: The smell is gone and we love the fan.

I had to have 3 of them in a row replaced just after opening the box, they had loose parts and poor assembly. Treated each one with kid gloves. The one I did keep worked OK for about a week then began to get louder every week. Got too noisy too even watch TV or sleep. I have shop fan that is quieter at this point. It appears that all Vornado products are now built & or assembled in China with low quality control. Was not impressed with the air flow and circulation. Better off getting a normal tower fan that oscillates from another manufacture. If you want a very noisy fan with high circulation buy a shop fan.

Order was set to take a few weeks, fine by me as the product is coming from the US. Having owned several back in the US I was excited as these fans are the best tower fans I've come across. Order was suddenly cancelled after about a week and the product was no longer available. Luckily I found a smaller desk fan from Vornado at my local Bau Markt. Not satisfied with this order due to it never being delivered, but the brand one of the best fan companies out there!

It is loud. And it does not cool the entire room as it says. You have to be very close to it for it to cool you down. It is a regular tower fan but not as good as others. The fact that the blades do not isolate is a disadvantage. I wish I could return it but the return window has closed.
