Perfect for the job!
I made a lot of research before biting the bullet on this purchase. After a long research i eliminated my choices between Clarion XC1410 and Alpine KTP-445U. I decided on Clarion mainly because of the price to benefit ratio. I was able to get more for less from Clarion. I have a Toyota GTS86 (also known as subaru BRZ or scion FRS) so it's a small car. I didn't need anything that'd make my ears bleed. I combined this amp with JBL GTO608C component speakers. Sound is just unbelievable. Everything is crisp clear. Bass is tight and i'm yet to turn it up all the way. It's just too loud. At least inside a sound dampened sports car. There are however some minor negatives that i should mention: -You'll need a connector to connect your power and ground cables from the battery to the power and ground cables on the amp. They've made a socket thing to remove the amp without removing all the harness but it's only good after you attach your cables together. It's simply a nuisance and an extra cost to purchase a connector for a 10gauge cable. And some extra work. -You'll need extra speaker cables, 4 to be exact for 2 speaker setup. Or 8 if you will go for 4 speaker setup(HU to AMP & AMP to Speakers). Again, a bit of soldering & heat shrink/electrical taping required which is a bit of a nuisance. Luckily i had lots of speaker cables so didn't spend anything on it. -Velcro strap or at least zip ties necessary to hide it under the dash somewhere. I hid everything in the glove box but i recommend a sticky velcro tape to make sure that the amp won't run around in the glove box(if you choose to install there). I was very tight in space so i went for glovebox. -Channels are not bridgeable whereas Alpine KTP-445u was bridgeable. Positives: -Ridiculous value for money. As cheap as it could possibly get. -Crisp clear sound. -Easy audio setup(not install but adjusting gain) -Compact and easily hidden -User friendly manual. Very easy to read and understand how to install even for someone new to installing a sound system. -Runs very cool. After an hour of listening, it barely got warm. So long story short, they could've included the necessary stuff to make a complete install. Perhaps that would pull the price up a little though. If you are looking for a great sounding amplifier without breaking the bank, look no further. It certainly won't win any competitions but do you really want to go deaf listening to music? And again, i still couldn't turn the volume up all the way even with 2 speaker setup. For me, the negatives simply can not overwhelm the positives.

Great amp. especially considering the price.
I bought the Clarion XC1410 D-Class amp because I wanted to get more clarity in my music for the four door speakers in my 2011 Chevy Silverado, (without Bose system) I have a Sony aftermarket head unit installed along with an iPad Mini custom installed in my dash and I don't need to be able to play my music super loud but I was hoping this small amp. would help with the definition of my music and I am not disappointed, in fact I am quite impressed. I have new Rockford Fosgate speakers that I will be installing in the near future but I wanted to see how much, if any difference installing this amp. would make using the stock speakers before installing the new RF speakers. I can tell a very noticeable improvement in my music, just by installing this amp., I have much more mid bass now and the vocals are even more clear. This is only my second amplifier that I have installed and this one is relatively easy since I was able to put the amp. behind the dash of my truck. For the money, I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this amp. to anyone looking for more clear and refined music with the least amount of hassle and money. Also the build quality is excellent on this amp.with an all brushed Aluminum body it's almost a shame to hide it in the dash. I would recommend getting the 8ga amp. kit on Amazon when you buy this amp and you should have everything you need to do the install. Question: I love this little amp but every since I have had it installed if I turn my truck key to acc., wait 2 - 5 seconds and then start my truck the sound will not play. If I turn the truck off and open the door to "kill" the radio and then start the truck without pausing on acc. the radio works fine. I have another amp for my subwoofer and there is no problem with the sub playing regardless to how I start the truck, in other words the sub amp works normally. Both amp. turn on wires are connected to the radio "amp turn on" wire. If anyone has had this issue or know how to correct this problem your help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried everything I know to try to fix this issue with no luck. Also, it does not matter if the sub amp. is connected to the turn on wire or not I have the same issue. I am assuming this problem is a install problem and not the Clarion amp but at this point I am not so sure. I welcome any input on this, it really gets to me when something is not working exactly like it should.

Pretty great little amp
Pretty great little amp, pushes well without draining the system too much. Installation was simple and the system played first try. Has RCA options, as well as direct speaker +/- connections. Great overall amp, and for cheap. My only concern is this. It does have a safety cut off, if it's pushed too much, which I may or may not have reached quite a few times. All it does is cut out for a second. Turn the volume down a little and it jumps right back in. I have yet to test when exactly this happens, It would be beneficial to see if this cutoff is truly a safety switch, or if the claimed 300w max isn't being reached. Just me speculating. If you're that concerned about how loud the system is, don't get a digital amp. And don't get a 300w max amp. This is a great option for cars with weak charging systems, that still want quality sound on a budget. This amp delivers that, and so much more.

WOW. Clean, natural and powerful
This little Guy is impressive. I installed this in a 2010 CRV, to run the Mid and highs. There is not a lot of room in that car for a full size amp so I decided to give this a try. I had owned Clarions in the past with mixed results always good but not always amazing. I just started converting this cars system over and have decided to go in 3 stages. 1) head unit /power 2) speakers 3) sub Here is the set up for stage 1) Wired it in with 4 gauge power and ground wire running from the battery to distribution blocks on the inside of the car. then 8 gauge from the blocks to the amp. ( this amp can not run off the cars wiring, and must be 10 ga or higher. I'm building a system so I went big) This Amp fit perfectly behind a double din JVC KWAV71BT 7-Inch in the dash. Mounted with heavy duty Velcro. I used two 3 foot RCA cable to connect, and for now am using the stock speaker wiring, running to stock speakers. The result is outstanding. The sound is very clean and powerful. full range sound even out of these cruddy stock 6'' speakers. The sound gets a fairly harsh in the CRV, but it not as bad as it was, and its mainly due to the stock speakers. The bass response is so good even my very experienced friends thought i had already added the sub. This amp has no coloration in the sound that I can tell so far. Its quiet, stays cool, and hits as hard as the last full size amp I got. I am truly a believer in this little guy. I can't wait for phase 2) of my install! INSTALL TIP: Wire your head units ground to the same ground as this amp or chances are you will get the sound of your cars alternator whining in your speakers. (IE: A Group Loop) I recommend that ground be your battery not the cars body.

Please read to the end!!
Before I installed this in my 2012 Jeep Wrangler, I had previously installed a Bazooka and some Polk mids. It sounded ok but was never loud and clear enough for me. That weakness was to be destroyed with the help of this relatively tiny amplifier. The clarity of the sound is only surpassed by the level of decibels my system now produces. I'm talking "blood from the ears" when I crank up "The Great Southern Trendkill", one of the best Pantera albums. As far as installation goes, it was as easy as any other amp I've ever wired in. It's small and light enough that I used some zip ties to suspend it from two supports behind the glove box. Clarion makes quality products and this amp is no exception. If you have upgraded your speakers do yourself a solid and install this amp as well. Now you're cooking with a gasoline. ###UPDATE### After having this in my jeep for less than 2 months I can say that the amp failing miserably in the reliability department. It basically works when it wants to. At least once a week it has a repeating malfunction. There is only a low volume, high pitch squeal emitting from the speakers. This did not happen prior to installing this amp. I have to remove power and "reboot" the amp if you will. Tried contacting Clarion but was routed to a service center about two hours from me. They did not answer. When it does work, it works great, but this is unacceptable. ###Update### Contacted a service center and was told they will not honor any warranty on Clarion products bought on Amazon.com. Save your dough and avoid Clarion. Good luck. ###Update### If you read the comments on my review you'll see that Clarion actually made an effort to see what people are saying about their products. I called the # and talked to a Clarion rep and told him my story. Without any haggling on my part, he took care of me. My XC1410 had a very early serial number so some bugs can be expected however, the problem I was having ended up being caused by my vehicle's control wire. The fact that Clarion reads these reviews, and responds to them, speaks volumes about their product support and customer service. If you buy from Amazon they will take care of any issues, perhaps better than buying from anywhere else. In the end this little amp does jam and Clarion really makes an effort ensure the customer is happy.

When it works, Five stars, but it is a ticking time bomb.
I bought this amp back on April 3rd of 2014. Been using it in my Honda VTX motorcycle. Havenโt had any complaints up until late, but Iโve been powering 4 Kicker DS525โs (two 4ohm speakers in parallel, running 2ohm per channel) in the faring using two of the channels, and was planning two use the other two for a subwoofer, but I have not added that yet. Sounds as good as the deck supplying the music. Had a Clarion CZ302 deck on it first, which together, sounded awesome, but that deck only worked for a few weeks, and Clarion would not Warranty it from Amazon. After 6 months of fighting with Clarion, Amazon ended up refunding me the money. (Thank you Amazon for Stepping up). Since then I have been running a Kenwood Deck that sounds like crap compared to my initial setup. Been really considering on getting another Clarion Deck, looking at the M505, thinking I just got a lemon the first time, but now the low quality is showing through on this Amp as well. A few days ago, Cruising down the road, the left side started crackling, so I turned it off for the remainder of the ride. I checked it out when I got home, and there was no sound from the left side. Tested everything thing and I narrowed it down to the AMP. Since I was not using the rear channel, last night I switched everything over to the rear channels, and Walla, it is working again. So right now, the Left Front channel is dead, little over 13 months after I purchased it. Which makes it even worse, I only had 4 good months of riding last year and have had it out for less than a Month this year, so 5 months of use, one channel gone. So it is only a matter of time before it goes completely dead. It wouldnโt matter if it was still within the one year warranty, Iโm sure they would just give me the runaround anyway. So I donโt recommend buying any Clarion product. I feel horrible that I told a bunch of friends about this amp and they too all have purchased this ticking time bomb. I guess we will wait and see, but in the meantime, Iโm shopping for a new solution.

It's Alright. The Design Needs Less Accountants and More Users Involved
Clarion could have done a MUCH more logical job with the wiring as well as having all wiring going into the unit be connected with like a Delphi connector or something. This would allow me to remove the RCA input cables, which I'm not using, which take up valuable space. The remote turn on wire (which is an INPUT to the amplifier) is on the OUTPUT side of the amplifier. That's really annoying when you're trying to manage clean wiring in a tight space. Finally, the fuse, which is a normal fuse and I shouldn't be complaining about it, is also annoying. Build the fuse into the amplifier, Clarion! It's a nuisance in-line with the wire. Secondly, this is actually quite larger than you think. The Alpine variant is smaller - not that much smaller - but smaller-enough that it fits so much better in a dash. While I was able to squeeze this in my dash just fine, it would have been far easier if the amplifier mounted to a separate mounting plate by sliding in and locking so that I can epoxy or screw in the mounting plate (much lighter), then, when everything is wired up, slide in the amplifier into the plate bracket with a nice locking click.

Works great for a motorcyle
Installed easily. If you have a good 12guage main power feeds and can mount it on the head unit, then it works out great. The wires are a bit short, but they all made it except for the remote power wire. I had a to add my own wire to reach from the plut to the wire cluster for it. Seems they don't include the wire in the plugged in bundle it comes with. But this was a perfect match for the 5.25 Polks I added, as they are 4 ohms, 45 watts, and this amp does 50 watts into 4 ohms. What's nice is that is also can work harder into 2 ohms at 75 watts. I installed this in my Victory CCT, soldered all connections. And the volume level matched stock perfectly. Used it's speaker level inputs. It also has a selectable 60hz or 90hz high pass, or flat switch. Perfect and compact! Very musical sounding.

Big performance in a small package.
It does what it claims to do. It enhanced my Elantra GT OEM system with volume, separation and clarity way beyond what its size would suggest.
