Really nice looking coin. It's exactly like how it's described. It is a one ounce silver coin, don't be confused with the 1/8 oz on the back. If you cut the coin in 8 pieces, that where you get the 1/8 oz from. Pieces of eight! Get it?

I bought this for my personal collection. It's a full 1 troy oz .999 silver. I love this!! It's something that I do recommend for any collector of various silver coins and likes the historical symbolism that it has! To the people that are looking at the negative reviews, this part is for you: Many people have gotten confused when they get a silver coin like this. IT IS A FULL 1 OZ SILVER!!!! It's called "Pieces of Eight" for..........a...........reason!!!!!! If you cut it 8 times (look at the back of the coin), it will give you 1/8th of an ounce for the total coin. Please do some historical homework on that!

Great Product But No Paperwork Showing Authenticity
I am very pleased with the coin. It is a gift for my son. However, it was delivered wrapped in bubblewrap with absolutely no paperwork whatsoever. It would have been nice to have some paperwork that described what it is and certifying that it is pure silver. I had a leftover velvet pouch from a jewelry gift that I placed the coin in to make it more presentable, but he has to take my word that it is pure silver. It also would have been nice to have a historical explanation for why it is divided in 1/8's, but I will just do my best to explain that to him, too. Again, though, I am happy with the coin itself.

Quality product for the money
Acid test proved this is silver, the history behind the piece makes it really hard to put down. Very nice shine. Only recommendation is maybe ship them with some kind of authenticity ticket/paper as I could see people being confused by the 1/8oz markings if they arent familiar with the coins historic use. For sure will purchase more.

Yes, it is 1 oz of silver
I have bought two of these. Both had a beautiful finish and they are both 1 oz of silver. Some people are very confused by the description and the back of the coin because reading comprehension is hard. It has markings for breaking it into 1/8ths. It is not 1/8th silver. Some people should not be allowed to reproduce.
