Better Life! Better Health! Better Rice!
I lived in Taiwan for 25 years, so rice has definitely been a big staple of my diet for a long time. That said, I’ve never really been crazy about rice, I always thought rice is just rice, a side dish to the main meal. I’ve always had the same attitude towards rice cookers too, as long as it could make the rice, I didn’t really care. Eventually, I needed a new rice cooker and a friend of mine referred me to the Buffalo smart cooker. I could tell a big difference in quality between the Buffalo rice cooker and my old one from 99 Ranch Market. The one thing I liked about my old cooker is that it had a nonstick inner. The Buffalo cooker also has a nonstick inner, but what really impressed me is that unlike the old one, the cladding materials are Japanese made and have NO chemical coating. So, while the old cooker is probably a little easier to clean than this one, this is still easy to clean, something that’s very rare for a rice cooker with no chemical coating. As long as you wait 10 minutes after the rice has cooked before scooping it out, I can clean the rice cooker easily without any problems. I’ve become more health-conscious especially since the pandemic, and my friend sent me some google links about traditional nonstick cookware- they have Teflon nonstick coatings and release toxic chemicals in the air once they start breaking down. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that with the Buffalo cooker, and I wish I’d switched to the Buffalo cooker a long time ago. I don’t really care if it’s made in China, it’s made of high-quality materials that are much safer for my family’s health!

Best rice cooker ive used so far
Best rice cooker ive used so far because it shows many functions for easy use such as poridge and steam and multigrain. The multigrain has left my cooker bowl stained though and difficult to clean off so if youre using korean mixed grain i’d be weary if appearance matters to you.

Amazing rice cooker..this is the best!
Amazing rice cooker with heavy stainless steel inner pot . Super easy to clean as rice did not stick to the bottom of the inner pot . I didn't even stir it after cooking. Perfectly cooked separate grains every time with 1:1 ratio of rice (long grain - Basmati ) and water . Made Indian rice porridge style dessert called paysam in porridge mode. The dessert is hard to make as it needs constant attention and stirring. It's super easy to make in this cooker. Just added ingredients and set to porridge mode. Was also able to do sautéing in porridge mode for making biriyani even though the Cooker do not advertise about saute feature ..overall a 10/10 cooker and its classy, easy to use and clean ,and healthy as no need to deal with non stick coating.

Dis-appointed - Update
Pervious markings on inner pots were stamped. New pot markings were printed on the inner side and started to fade from the first washing. I don't think these markings will last after a few more washing. Dis-appointed, for the top of the line $300 pot I expected better. Everything else is good. If they have a stamped replacement inner pot I would buy it. Update: Seller reached out quickly and replaced the inner pot. Very happy with their timely response. Will definitely by from seller again.

Works for us
stainless steel heavy inner pot easy clean great heat retention on keep warm setting soup, rice and porridge functions work great love that I can brown onions and aromatics right in the pot as well as making a roux there is a little more steam escape than what I'm used to but not enough to take away a star! Loved it so much I went back and purchased the wok

Beware if you’re cooking 2 cups or less
my mom had this brand of rice cooker before (10+ years) and it recently died. She asked me to but a new one for me so I found the same “size” and brand but this is obviously a newer version. It was sent to her house and unfortunately, she’s cooking for herself and my dad using their normal portions but the rice cooker WILL NOT COOK if there’s 2 or less cups of rice. Not sure why they changed the settings since their old one never had this restriction. So… for now it sits unused until us kids go home.
