This smells unpleasant to me but the mice seem to like it. Not so effective so far on rats, but still trying.

I’ve given this product a fair trial and I have found it to be no more effective than ordinary bait (such as peanut butter or chocolate spread) in holding the attention of or encouraging rats into traps. Being so expensive for such a small amount, I had hoped this product would work well but, sadly, no. The product has an odd smell – the only thing I can compare it to is those Caramac bars we used to get in the 1970s/80s. It is quite pungent and I can smell it from about 4 feet away (which I couldn’t do with peanut butter, etc.). I have an intermittent problem with loft rats and, as a consequence, I have several traps up there. As an experiment, I baited the four snap-traps I have in close proximity: three with peanut butter sprinkled with sunflower seeds (which is the most effective bait I have found so far) and the fourth trap with this “Rat Attractant”. I have a Yi CCTV camera monitoring the area where these traps are placed that is motion-activated. As a result, I have seen, on several occasions in recent weeks, a rat investigating the area of these traps. The rat paid no more attention and spent no more time near the trap baited with this “Rat Attractant” than it did the others and I have yet to have any success in trapping it. So, considering that this product has been, in my experience, wholly ineffective (as well as being very expensive for the small amount you get - £9.99 for just 20 grams!) I have to give it just one star.

Easy to use syringe system, well built with a tight fitting cap to cover any that’s left. It does have a strong smell so I would suggest if possible store outside I’ve put mine in a metal tub in garden store, which helps store it a bit safer too, but if there was no odour it probably wouldn’t attract anything. The design means it is easy to use whether you are baiting up a snap trap, humane trap or to attract to bait stations. I would highly recommend especially since I have used it on 2 snap traps and in 2 bait stations and used less than half a tube.

Good communication from seller to resolve issue. Doesn’t seem to attract the rats near the trap. I will keep trying

I have bought this to deal with rats on a couple of occasions. Their nest isn't in my garden so difficult to eradicate but I always get some bodies to dispose of so seems to work pretty well.

Large boxes value for money. Should be fine for big fat rats. Like the one I had in my shed

I got this along with the snap trap. Two stars for ease of use of trap and bait. You lost three because it attracted nothing at all. Gave up and used trap placement. Far more effective. Know your enemy.
