Quick, Easy, and Actually Tastes Good
I really like these tuna infusions. They’re super convenient for a quick meal or snack, and the flavors make them way more enjoyable than plain tuna. They’re easy to take on the go, and I like that you don’t need to add anything, just open and eat. A simple, tasty option when you want something quick but still decent.

Best impulse buy in days
I'd never tried the Chicken of the Sea Infusions Tuna in the basil variety or any of their infusions at all but impulsively ordered a box of six last week. I had the first of the pack today and was extremely satisfied having it with fresh vegetables, cottage cheese and a sprinkling of freshly ground black pepper. I emptied the entire container of very large chunks of skipjack including the olive oil/basil infusion and needed to add no dressing to the meal. The basil flavor was not overpowering and surprisingly fresh in taste on the palate, unlike some basil concoctions these days. I decided to add no acid-like balsamic vinegar or lemon juice because I wanted to get the true effect of the product. It needed nothing more. The fish was not strong in flavor and it was moist in texture but not overly oily. For a single serving, this is perfect. I sometimes hesitate to open a can of tuna because I know it will have to be consumed within a couple of days. With this one, there is no forecasting to consider, you open it, eat it and you're done. The spork in the lid interior is a nice addition which can be used when you consume the tuna or saved for a later picnic. EDIT several months later. I've turned a lot of people on to the Tuna Infusions and we have a general consensus after purchasing dozens of these boxes in assorted varieties. The lemon variety is awful. Toddlers liked it for the first couple of bites and then stopped eating while the adults hated it. The taste is just fake and overpowering, period. The Thai flavor is especially good when added to a rice or grain meal with some added cruciferous vegetables. The smoked style was almost as bad as the lemon tuna, and was only purchased once. The basil tuna was a tie with the Thai style because it was good with grains or rice and also delicious on a salad with parmesan cheese and a little lemon or vinegar. These are easy to transport, eat, enjoy, and the containers are recyclable. Don't forget to rinse out before placing it in the bin.

Great taste
I love these! The taste is really good. I love the high protein. I had weight loss surgery and these work well for me. They are easy to open and ready to eat. I love the spork that comes in the lid. I have never had an issue with these. They aren't too oily or watery.

So disappointed
***UPDATE on 2/9/24: These have been ridiculously expensive at $16-19 for six little 2.8-oz cups, so I hadn't bought any since July 28, 2023. When they finally came back down to $13.66, I puckered up and ordered two, just in case the price went up again. Even at $13 I wasn't happy with the price, but in the past these were worth it. I got my shipment today and immediately opened one for lunch. The taste was NOTHING like I remembered. Much stronger and not a pleasant flavor at all. I compared the ingredients to my old container and found the reason. On the Amazon website, under "Ingredients," it simply says, "See Label For Ingredients." However, there is no picture of the ingredients shown. So, I thought they would be the same as all my previous orders. Oh nay nay. PREVIOUS ingredients: Skip Jack Tuna, extra virgin olive oil, water, sweet basil, salt, basil flavor (contains coconut), and guar gum. (Pretty simple and straight forward) CURRENT ingredients: Light tuna, water, onion, and less than 2% of basil, garlic powder, sugar, salt, spices, lemon juice powder, onion powder, natural flavors, spice extractives, yeast extract, guar gum, and citric acid. (A lot more "stuff" added for what reason!? It did not enhance the flavor by any stretch of the immagination!) The "fat" content went from 6g to 0.5g, but EVOO is good for you! Then they added sugar! They probably had to do something to mask all the "spices, natural flavors, and extractives" that they added. I don't mind onion and garlic in anything, but it's overpowering in this and you can't taste the basil any more. Protein also dropped from 21g to 17g. So, twice the amount of ingredients, but not healthier and tastes awful. I'm going to see if I can return at least one of the two containers. This stuff is terrible and I'm soooo terribly disappointed. It was one of my absolute favorite treats on WW. Now, it's permanently off my list. Do better Chicken of the Sea! First 5-star review: I first tried this product when CVS was having a clearance sale. I got one each of a couple different flavors. This one was, by far, my favorite flavor. I looked for them in Walmart after that and bought a couple more, but, of course, they were much more expensive than the sale price I'd gotten at CVS. So, I came on Amazon to find them. Just a couple years ago, I could get a box of 6 for $11 and some change. Now they are up to $16 and change. While I get that everything is going up, a full 5-oz can of tuna fish (currently on Amazon for a pack of 10) is $1.05 each. So, it's hard to spend $2.67 for each little 2.8-oz cup of the basil flavored one, even if it comes with a flimsy little plastic fork for convenience. My suggestion for Chicken of the Sea would be to give us the option of buying the smaller one with the fork, or buying bigger containers without the fork, and less expensive, and let us use our own flatware.

Very basil-y, in oil
This has a strong basil flavor. Hard to find in stores, so 6- pack is a pretty good value. Good chunks of tuna in oil. Comes in a lightweight plastic tub with a little folding fork stuck to the inside of the top. Has a peel off foil lid inside the tub, so you can take it on road trips or to work without it leaking out. But after that foil is torn off, the lid doesn’t really seal, so not great for a backpack unless you intend to finish it all at once. Better quality than other tuna pouches. Tubs make nice little containers for dry cereals for lunches etc if you’re worried about wasting all that plastic.

Basil???
I have been buying this product for a long time. The basil was my favorite flavor. But on two of my last three orders, the flavor has changed. It no longer tastes like basil. It tastes very much like the garlic & herb flavor which I have also tried. I don't know if Chicken of the Sea changed their recipe, or if a batch was labeled incorrectly, or what else, but I really want that basil flavor, so I am hesitant to re-order. If the recipe has changed, there is no "new" or "improved" indication on the packaging, but regardless, I am disappointed.
