A masterpiece!! As an avid collector of idioms and slang dictionaries, I must say this is ;by far the most comprehensive idioms and slang dictionaries I have seen.However how come you did not include the idiom PLAY A BLINDER (to play exceptionally well- British informal). Arieh Golan

a good reference. slang & idioms dictionaries (phrasal verbs too) are a invaluable resource for non-native speakers. translation of literary texts (and lyrics) is helped by this wonderful dictionary.

Just wish there were more “origins”

Might prove to be a bit dry but I already feel it is a nice,serious tool.

This is a must for writers. You can build a character with odd idioms and slang. loved it.

I purchased it on my Kindle. I thought by the way I did my search that this would be a dictionary that would pop up as an option when looking something up while I was reading. But that was not the case. You have to close your book and then open up the dictionary. This sort of defeats the purpose of my purchase so hardly ever use it.

This book has indexed search and easy to navigate on kindle. The price is very reasonable for the quality and value. Highly recommended.

熟語辞典には比較的安易な作りのものからもっと大部なものまで色々あるが、これは簡単過ぎず、十分なボリュームがあり、語釈がとてもわかりやすく用例付きで実際の使い方も確認できて申し分ない。名詞や動詞を核とした、いわゆる熟語や決まったフレーズだけでなく、句動詞と呼ばれている<動詞➕前置詞や副詞>の組み合わせも予想以上に丁寧に拾ってあり、その入念な辞書作りには頭が下がる思いで、敬意を表したい。今はネットでこの内容も必要に応じて検索できると思うが、従来の紙の辞書のようにこうしてページ毎に一覧できると、気ままに繰って、ああ、これも決まった言い方だったのかと、思わぬ発見があって楽しい。辞書は引くだけでなく、「読む」楽しさもあると思う。アメリカ英語を主としている英語学習者には英英辞典のWebster’s Advanced Learner’s Dictionary とともに、must-have の辞書と思っている。大いに推奨したい。
