2-Slice Toaster, TR1278B, Extra Wide Slots, 7 Shade Settings, 850 Watts, Frozen and Bagel Buttons

I've been using the BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster for a little while now, and I gotta say, it's pretty awesome. The extra wide slots are great for bagels, thick bread, or whatever else I want to toast up without any hassle. I love that it has 7 shade settings—so I can get my toast just how I like it, from lightly golden to nice and crispy. It’s also pretty quick with 1400 watts, so I don’t have to wait forever for my breakfast. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable toaster that makes mornings a little easier and way more convenient. Definitely a good buy if you’re looking for something that’s simple, functional, and easy to use. Oh... it looks great too and is easy to clean!

I really really like this toaster, I replaced one just like it...got lots of uses, easy to operate, simple, holds large bagels !

I’ve owned this toaster for over 8 years now. I really don’t have much negative to say about it. The controls are very simple. It’s not complicated to use and if you ask me, 8 years of usage and only one side of the toaster just gave out is pretty amazing to me, especially since it’s a cost effective toaster. I liked this toaster so much that I just replaced the original one with the same model. I really like the fact that it’s a simple unit. Four slots for bread, two handles to press down, two knobs to adjust how toasted you want your bread and each knob has a button to press to pop your toast out. That’s it. I’ve always had the knobs set to either “3” or “4”. For me, it’s the happy medium of a slight crisp to the outside of the bread, but still soft on the inside. The heat level is not bad at all. You can hold your hand above the slots and be fine, which goes hand in hand with the toasting ability. The toasting takes roughly 2 minutes at the 3 or 4 setting which to me is very reasonable. Anything that’s toasts too quickly comes with some type of downfall. Cleaning it is simple. It’s got two “trays” under the toast slots that can be pulled from the bottom that the crumbs and seeds from your bread fall to that can be dropped into the trash or where ever you dump it. The outside of the toaster is slick so a dish rag or damp sponge can easily glide over it to clean. Other than that, the only improvements I could see being made or potentially made is to make the bread slots a little wider to allow say, Texas toast! I’m not overly picky when it comes to colors but for the average person looking to compliment their kitchen, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few more colors.

This 4-slice toaster looks great on the kitchen counter, the design is modern, clean, and very elegant. It fits perfectly in the kitchen and adds a nice touch to the overall look. It’s also very practical, toasts evenly, and is perfect for families or anyone who needs to prepare multiple slices at once. A great combination of functionality and beautiful design. Highly recommended!

Quality affordable toaster. This is the second one I have purchased, same exact one. There was nothing wrong with the last one, however at the cost of 20 dollars we had that toaster for 6 years and instead of cleaning it we tossed it and replaced it with the same model. Will do it again when the time comes. Nice looking black and stainless steel matches our kitchen appliances. Compact size for countertop use, and cupboard storage. Minimal settings, nothing too fancy just what you need, easy to use.

We don't eat a lot of toast but needed a new one when the old one died. I studied the reviews and this model seemed to have a very large number of positive reviews and was inexpensive. We received the toaster in June and it has gotten some use. Each time we used it the crumb tray would pop open spilling out the crumbs when we went to put it away. At first we thought that we were hitting something accidently. But when my son visited at the end of September and used it daily, he complained bitterly. First of all, the crumbs went everywhere. We finally decided to study the bottom and see what we were doing wrong. After trying everything, the tray will not stay connected when you pick it up to put it away or bring it over to the trash to empty....by the time you get there, it is cleaned out. But what really frosted my son was the poor toasting. One side of the bread was nice and toasty brown; the other side barely tan. So I dug out the paperwork and found the 800 # to call. I called and the woman at the other end told me that they "don't handle things like this" and to take it back where I bought it. Now in the paperwork it specifically says NOT to take it back to the point of sale, but the call this number. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 67 minutes (timed it) before my call was dropped. Now I am mad and have emailed. When I have something that I need to sit and do, I will also call again when I can put the phone on speaker and while away the time. Very disappointed. Now I have to shop for another toaster. Think I will look for one in a higher price range because this bargain wasn't one -- just a piece of junk. UPDATE 10/3/2018 -- Just got off the phone with a wonderful customer service representative from Black + Decker. Michael was most apologetic (not expected since he wasn't the one responsible for my poor experience). As I suspected B+D subcontracts the customer service and this is not what they as company expect. They are sending a replacement toaster and just asked that I cut the electrical cord on the current one before disposal. I suspect that I got a "lemon" which can happen even in the best of companies. Very pleased with Black + Decker's response. We own a number of B+D products that we like very much, and this is the type of response that we would expect from a company that values its customers.

this is an ok toaster, serves the purpose obviously as it toasts as it should. but the buttons on the front seem very cheaply made and i dont really care for them as its hard to see what level you are toasting as the bottom has a small notch that blends in with the button. i definitely like the length of the cord though which is why i was interested in this. the heat levels are a little hard to judge and tends to lean more toward burning it then a nice toast, but that might also be bc i cant see the level im on

The roaster was plugged in but off and caught fire one day less than 6 months after purchase. Luckily we were at home and could immediately put it out. One star because until then it made great toast:D

This toaster is made well and works fine. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for either a good 2 slice or 4 slice model.

Product is not meant for the Indian market. It is 120v with a 2 flat pin plug. Cannot be used in Indian households of 220-240v electric output. A waste of money. If plugged in it will blow/fuse.

Works very good. Nice size, great color and sturdy built. Good price. Recommended.
