Used this as a form to wind a coil for a homebrew variometer, a vintage amateur radio project. A 4-inch pipe rotates inside of the 6-inch pipe, both wound with wire. ... It is a kind of antenna tuner; a variable inductor of the type used 100+ yrs ago.
