Very pleased with the results.
It works very well. As a parent(parenting for 21 years now) in this day and age, with technology today, it has become increasingly difficult to monitor and limit activities. We have one older son that is Autistic and would sit on the video games ALL DAY. It became more difficult to limit that time and interest him in other activities. By incorporating the token reward timer he does other things to gain that time, we have a chart and by doing a chore or activity he can earn the token, and bonus tokens for rewards for doing good. The timer helps greatly as we have tried to implement a reward chart in the past but they can be difficult for us to monitor in our busy daily lives also. Token in, time played, TV off. Simple and effective. It has actually help reduce everyone's TV time, the television is no longer on all day. This system also helps when someone else is parenting who may have not fully understood our routines.

This is Our Second One
This is a great device. We have a tween that literally cannot self-regulate. He will even lie about time spent. So we bought one of these last Fall ('19) and it worked wonders. No more arguments. We give him 18 tokens a week. He tends to spend these before the end of the week. We let him do some outside yard chores to make a few back. Then Covid hit... We set up a workstation upstairs for his school work. Well you can probably guess how that went. He started playing video games and watching youtube. So we had him "declare" tokens from the TV for computer time. Putting in tokens in one room and trying to time it for computer in another room didn't work. So we decided to get a second Token Timer to control the computer. Just arrived today. He will hate it, but it really works!

Useless
Useless. Description wasn’t clear that each token is worth 35 minutes. Unless I want to reward my kids with hours of video game time (which then what would be the point of using this) then it is not useful for a reward system. Tried exchanging for the upgraded version and would have to pay (understandably) more for the timer but also pay a rediculous amount in shipping to do an exchange.

Didn’t come with the 20 tokens
Didn’t receive 20 tokens with the machine.

worked ok for a few months, but key no longer turns
The product worked at first, and then my husband undermined me by unplugging it. Note: train the adults first. Back to product review, I like the coins are great quality, and the concept was just what I wanted. Also sleek and attractive device. Six months or so after purchasing, the key when it turned it didn't lock the device, so you could just take off the top and reach in and grab coins. I messed with it and got the thing to lock, but now the key is stuck in the device. Basically it worked great at first but due to the cheap lock mechanism, it is now a weighty doorstop.

I love the simplicity of this system
I like how simple it is to operate for myself, and how straightforward it is for the kids to understand and adhere to whatever rules you are trying to enforce. Even if I have other people babysitting it's easy for them to dish out tokens to enforce discipline. I had no issues with typical coins working with this unit, if kids did that you will know when you open the unit to remove the tokens. Only downside is that everytime the TV shuts off, all electricity is cut and the TV loses its time and settings. And the blue LEDs can be really bright, you have to hide it or face the unit in another direction (takes a little work because if cords are behind TV, the coin slot and lights are naturally oriented toward the TV viewer

Simple and effective
I love the simplicity of this device. Can it be hacked? You betcha. Can the tv go in the dumpster? You betcha. Seems given the alternative, the kids have opted not to try. I work at home and can’t spend all day peeling the kids off the tv during the summer, so this device has been a godsend. They earn coins for chores, reading, playing outside, etc. it helps me monitor and limit screen time. We can use the key to override the time limits for family movie nights. I am considering another for the pc monitor. Muhahha.

Great product
This is a fantastic product. We use it to limit electronic activity, but it also incentives our kids. Our kids come asking for chores so they can earn a token.
