Repaired Our Moen Spout
We have hard water. It causes problems whenever I have any plumbing repairs. When our upstairs bathtub spout leaked using the shower, I figured it would be an easy fix. I tried getting just the rubber washer, but couldn't find one. Then I found a Danco repair kit, but it didn't fit right. So I tried putting the washer from that one in the old plastic housing. It sort of worked better, but not quite. I looked at the inside of the spout to find pitting all around the opening. After taking a Dremel tool with a rotary bit on it, the leaking was somewhat better, but not quite. I ordered the Moen 101237 Moen Cup Seal & Diverter Gate with hopes it would fix the problem. When I took it apart this time, I used a paint stir stick with sand paper on to sand the spout smoother. The cup seal in this kit differs from the original as the back side (against the spout) is smooth faced. The original one has a lip on the outer edge. This one fit snug so I used some silicone on it. It works really well, shutting off about 95% of the water. I can live with a slight trickle. I would order again, but wish they would sell just the cup seal.

Easy Quick Fix
When my tub's shower diverter valve was leaking badly, my local plumber told me that it would be an expensive job to replace the spout. But when I found this great little item, it cost under $10 and I could easily install it myself in a matter of minutes, with no need to replace the spout or to mess with the pipes! How nice!

Only diverter gate that fit!
Bought this because my old diverter gate chipped from rough kids. I tried two Danco models that either were too small width-wise or too thick for my Moen bathtub faucet. This product fit and still let me use the old plunger on my faucet. Only complaint is the rubber is thin and my tub faucet leaks water with the shower on. However, it functionally works as needed. Will come back here when the part wears out again due to rough kids.

Simple a cheap way to fix leaking tub spout!
I almost pulled a trigger purchasing a brand new tub spout ($50+) but I'm glad I decided to try this. It popped right in place and it just worked as advertised! No more wasted water when showering! Thank you, Moen!

Fine part but does NOT fit Moen Brantford series.
The product itself is fine. However, if you've come here from the Moen website -- which indicates that this is the part number for their Brantford tub diverter spout 1/2" IPS model: 3814 series -- that it incorrect. This item is rectangular and too wide. It does not even fit up into the Brantford spout. The Brantford uses a square gate. The only comparable gate I could find is the Danco model #11018

Perfect for my Moen 8000 series tub spout. Easy and simple installation.
Bought this Moen 101237 repair kit to rebuild an older Moen 8000 series tub spout that I just couldn't throw away. After removing the worn out diverter gate and seal (simple online guidance) I used some acid to remove calcium deposits INSIDE the spout and a flat stick with sandpaper to clean up the rough areas where the rubber seal sits. I also applied a bit of silicone grease to the rubber seal and inside the spout to prevent corrosion while this spare/rebuilt spout is put into storage for the inevitable day the current diverter spout fails to seal or starts squealing. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !

No way this will fit
This product didn’t fit into the spout guide rails. It was over 1mm too thick compared to the one that came with the spout. I had to sand this down to get it close to the thickness of the original one and then use the old seal to get it to work. The seal with this unit did not work with the sanded gate. I don’t know what mine was thinking with this replacement

After customer support refused to help at all, this single piece fixed the diverter and saved me hundreds of dollars in repair/replacements

It is exactly what I am looking for! I have been searching forever for this. All the previous purchases were so unnecessary! The universal or the so-called same model fit that Rona, Home Depot and most of the online sellers offered do not work at all for the bath tub sprout that I have at home. Even though this particular purchase is definitely higher in price, I am still grateful to be able to find it here. This is the rounder fit of 101237! If you know what I am talking about, then this is what you are looking for!

The flap is the wrong size/shape for my spout, but the washer was the same as the old one, so replacing just the rubber washer did the trick. If you know it's this washer you're replacing, don't worry about the flap. Kinda a rip-off considering it's 0.0002 cents worth of material, but what can you do?

This is a (Moen) generic part, it fit and fixed my Delta tub spout. I wish I could have just bought the rubber washer for a buck. Oh well it’s fixed and I couldn’t find this part locally anywhere. Local wanted me to spend $25 on a new spout.

My Moen shower head wasn’t getting much water it was all draining through the tub part. Instead of paying for a plumber I googled the problem and I needed a new diverter gate. Very easy to remove and I compared to this one. Some have a different shape. This went in ways and now my shower works. Worth the money and didn’t have to pay for a plumber
