This alum block works very well, is easy to use and comes in a handy storage box that makes traveling with it a breeze. I returned to traditional wet shaving (safety razor, brush, shaving soap) a number of years ago. Using the traditional double-edge blades and metal razors requires some practice and experience before one can do this completely nock or irritation-free. Finishing a shave nick-free is not difficult, but having an alum block like this is essential to nipping your weepers when they happen. Unlike styptic pencils, the alum block is basically just that; a small block cut from a large piece of alum. You'll note that the "cut" edge, where it's removed from the big block, will have a rough edge, but the other edges are smoother. These are the ones you should stroke on your skin for the most comfort. I rarely get nicks, but when I do, I rinse my face with cold water (well, as cold as we can get tap water here in Florida). I'll wet the alum block with warm water and run the smooth edge over the nicked area first, then over the rest of my face and neck to relieve any irritation. I should mention here that the alum block is also excellent for relieving common razor irritation in addition to nicks and weepers. As the instructions state, you should always rinse the alum off your face with water after about three minutes. You don't want to leave the residue on your skin. For me, the block usually stops my nicks from bleeding immediately. Whether or not this works for you the same way will depend on your skin and how easily you bleed. This is a great item for grooming, and I recommend one to any man who shaves.

This alum block surprised me in both longevity and efficacy. I use this as an aftershave- I will shave, wash and rinse with soap, then wet the block and apply to my face and neck. It does an amazing job at tightening the skin, closing up nicks, and cleansing. It does burn when you go over a small scrape or a sensitive pore, but the burn is very temporary and the benefits really do outweigh this pain. The block has lasted me a year and a half at this point and has barely worn down at all! I did drop it once and the corner broke off in crumbles, but these smoothed over after a few uses and the block is still completely useable.

This is a nice size block for face and comes in a decent case. However I gave it for stars because my block came with a crack in the corner which after one use broke off. Still works so it is not worth the trouble to return. Packing could be better to avoid this issue. It is in a box that was placed in Amazon plastic envelope, but nothing to cushion it during shipping which could get rough and obviously did.

It works the same as any other alum block and considering it comes with a travel case and is cheaper than the others there's no reason for you not to try this one. It's amazing how fast it closes your pores and makes your skin look nice and shiny

I'm very pleased with these alum blocks and the convenient plastic box they come in. They add a nice touch to the face after a good shave. I've used a number of alum product and this would be the best to date. Also a very good price. I can't find any indication of the country of manufacture but that is irrelevant.

If you're grinding this thing against your freshly-sheared skin, you know it's unpleasant, but SO rewarding. Like a smart sting, this alum block feels like you're cutting yourself twice over, but leaves your face feeling smooth and maintained. I haven't suffered razor burn since the last time I shaved without this. Also, try being a hero and assuaging your spouse's/significant other's shaving woes. Next time they've got a nick on their leg, or under their arm, or elsewhere, try taking care of the problem with this! They'll hate you for twenty seconds, then swear by it afterward!

En revanche, je pensais l'article être plus grand (comme un savon classique) mais il est plus petit. La petite boite qui le contient est top surtout pour les déplacements,peut être manque 'il un trou sur le dessous de la boite pour égoutter l'eau de la pierre qui sèche après utilisation.

La pietra di allume è l'ideale per il dopo rasatura. Questa è piuttosto grande e dispone di un comodo astuccio in plastica verde rigida.
