Creative Co-Op Black Embossed Tin Post Letter Box

We live in an historic district, and are currently having our 1905 Folk Victorian cottage house painted. I’ve seen this style of mailbox on a few other houses in our neighborhood and really liked the look, so figured now was a good time to update our plain metal mailbox as well. In my search, I fell in love with this embossed style, especially the little bird on it - we plan on naming our house “Yellow Bird Cottage” (a common practice in the district) because of the new color. However, i wanted to customize it, so I had my husband spray paint the mail box gloss black and then custom paint the embossed bird, floral detail and “POST” to make it our own. We’ve already had multiple compliments on it! The mail box is slightly bigger than our previous one and will hold mail and magazines and even small packages. My husband did drill a few extra screw holes to attach it more securely next to the front door on our covered porch. I think the price was very reasonable for the quality and I think this special new mailbox will work well for a long time.

It isn't quite as detailed as the picture and feels quite rough to the touch, but for what I plan on using it for which is storage, it is actually great. I don't plan on using it for a mailbox although I really like the option it has for a little padlock to go. It will go great with my antique decor. Sturdy from what I can tell.

Very nice, it's is outside and part of my front entry. It is used just for decoration.

Easy to install and looks great. Only caution is water can leak into it if overfilled or mail slot is left open.

...⚠️i have a few painted metal items... You Should seal with some clear matte or shine for better endurance. ... ....OR, if like us folks who like more aging, i let them peel n fade a bit and opt instead for occasionally Dry brushing more colour on periodically.. Often lightly sanding metal in that area to rough up a bit prior.. ( i also like VERY lightly and from a distance spraying rustoleum metallic.. Btw rustoleum adheres the best anyway) So thats just how painted metal goes... Good to know, and to share w/ a recipient if gifting ..and its a Very giftable item.. Bigger than i pictured... sturdy..adorable.. More Sage than aqua... i like the sage but am planning on dry brushing some aqua to better go with my garden colours... Well worth 30... if 50...id still love it and want it, and tbh ive pd that in cute lil shops... but I'd hesitate only bc i wasnt lookin to spend a lot as this is a cute convenience... Im using as a waterproof garden glove/ tool holder.... I'll prob order another for the front yard, maybe then ill stop losin my gloves n pruners.. 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

The letter box was just as advertised and looks extremely close to the picture. In my case, the box is mounted under the front porch roof by the front door and has a small flower arrangement protruding from the top. After seeing this box I don't think it would be practical for a true mail box. This comment is not meant as a negative, just an observation. The opening in the top limits the size of the mail that could be inserted; the ability to reach down inside to retrieve mail is also somewhat restricted. The box itself is made from galvanized metal which is painted on the front and back of the outside; the inside is not painted, and the galvanized finish is clearly visible. There are some distressed area on the finish which allow the galvanized finish to show through. It also appears that a light antiquing glaze has been wiped over the surface. The overall finish has a semi-gloss appearance which I didn't think truly fit with the shabby chic look, hence my 4 stars. I ended up roughing up the surface some with steel wool. Note: I practiced scrubbing the glossy finish with steel wool on the back before doing a visible surface. The box could easily be painted if another color scheme was required. The only mounting hole is located at the top, however there is a flange along the bottom which is wide enough to drill a clearance hole for a small screw. Having to add a second mounting hole contributed to my 4 star rating. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, and it looks very nice next to the front door.

These days you don't want your AC just floating out your mail slot in the door.. that's a waste! So I ordered this super cool mailbox and had my husband place a screw into the brick wall next to the door. Works like a charm! We have about 3 different mail people delivering and there's one that would roll up the mail and just leave it stuck in the mail slot sticking out.. which meant our mail slot was open (letting heat in and AC out) until we took the mail from the slot. This box is big enough to hold smaller packages and mailer envelopes too. It's bigger/deeper than it looks. Another issue I was having was where to place my outgoing mail.. so now I just leave it sticking out the stop slot and put a note to "please pick up my mail". I only have outgoing mail a few times a month, so no biggie. Super cute, rustic looking box. Love it!

Beautiful mailbox. It has been the perfect addition to my house that now has all black shutters and doors. Matches everything perfectly. Very easy to put up and it holds a lot of mail and the mail never sticks out of it.

Excellent quality, larger than anticipated and a perfect colour! Very happy with this purchase!! Just wish it came with mire mounting hardware than 1 hole at the top. Will be perfect for mail on covered porch.

Love this mailbox. It's light and sturdy and was easy to hang. Added one more screw to the bottom to secure it to the wall of our house. Looks great on our 1896 house. Plus so much cheaper than the same one listed on Wayfair.
