An erotically charged thriller about the search for an ice pick murderer in San Francisco. It rivets attention through its sleek style and attractive cast doing and thinking kinky things together with a weirdly implausible yet intensely visceral storyline. Review: Close To Absolute Perfection! - I won't go into too many details about the plot of Basic Instinct. Others have done that much better than I could. All I will do is give a synopsis of my favorite scenes. The characters were spectacular! I loved seeing Sharon Stone heat up the screen in this movie! To think that Meg Ryan, Ellen Barkin, Kim Bassinger and so many other fine actresses all turned down the role of the decade makes me realize how it was fate that had the part get to Stone. Stone, and only Stone could do this part justice! Wow! She was incredible. She carried the movie in my opinion and Douglas played off of her. Don't get me wrong, Douglas did his fair share. He more than carried his weight in the production, but it really was Stone that got things going! Never have I seen such a beautiful display of chemistry on screen. The Jean Tripplehorne sex scene was absolutely incredible! I know many were turned off by its explicitness, but I feel it conveyed the primal urge that exists between man and woman. Tripplehorne's character acquiesses to the strong male and ends up being dominated by him! (Her Lover/Patient). As Douglas takes Jean Tripplehorne over the couch you realize that you are in for one wild and fantastic storyline! The ending had/was a twist! I won't go into details and/or ruin it for the reader, but suffice to say that you will be terrified and stunned at how the script ends itself! Definately a Five-Star rating! A. Nathaniel Wallace, Jr. Review: movie - great movie

A good thriller with a lot of sex scenes
This film keeps you on your tows from the start. It does start with an interesting, very explicit bedroom scene, with an unexpected twist at the end. What follows is one of the best detective stories in recent years, with a loot of humour and plenty of sex, for which the film is really famous for. Sharon Stone makes quite an appearance, dressed or undressed, but either she, or the director of the film, or both, seem to have a fixation on smoking to an irritating degree. Now as to the director's cut, I am not so sure that it adds much over the previous ten-year anniversary two disc edition. It is certainly worth watching and at its present price, a real bargain. If you are thinking of buying the sequel, don't bother. It does not even come close to the original.

Basic Instinct (Unrated Director's Cut) RAW SEXUAL INSTINCT!!!!!
Basic Instinct established Ms. Sharon Stone as an actress with talent beyond the explicit nudity found in this unrated version. Ms. Stone then in her 30's exudes sensuality, power & beauty well combined to play Catherine Tramell, a writer of crime novels. The crimes then enacted by a serial killer/killers on the loose. Who really commited the crimes??? One of my favorite scenes in the movie, when detective Nick Curran (Mr. Michael Douglas) follows Catherine in his car around the streets of San Francisco where the story takes place, there's no dialog for about 10 minutes, only the outstanding soundtrack by Mr. Jerry Goldsmith, A HOMAGE TO Mr. HITCHCOCK's CLASSIC VERTIGO, Ms. STONE DONE IN A HAIRSTYLE AS Ms. KIM NOVAK!!!!! PURE GENIUS FROM DIRECTOR Mr. PAUL VERHOEVEN!!!!! You have to applaud the frankness, near explicit sexuality, controversy & graphic violence in a movie that pushes the envelope in presenting a story so raw and being able to emerge as a winner!!!! But then again,it is the combination of a great thrilling excellent acting & direction that creates this neo-noir masterpiece. Forget new movies like Fifty Shades of Whatever that don't have the guts to present sexuality as raw as Basic Instinct does and in turn make a SUPERSTAR OUT OF BEATIFUL Ms. STONE!!!!! THE MOVIE SIMPLY BELONGS TO HER!!!!!

good sudection movie
A cop is called to a homicide to find a man who was killed after being intimate with a woman. The detective finds out that the killing is just like one written in a novel and the author becomes a suspect and the cop's lover. She says she did not do the killing but evidence shows that several novels of hers have come true and she becomes the prime suspect. At the end of the movie she does the same thing to the detective by making love but instead of killing him she decides to let him live but we do see the knife on the floor next to the bed.

WOW !!!
A man's perfect nightmare of temptation. This movie was really something else, keeps you on the edge of your seat for sure. Just when you think you can get a handle on the way it's going to go, it flips the script and you're left trying to figure it out. The characters in the movie really played their parts to the hilt, I enjoy watching this movie any and every time I play it. If you like action, suspense and romance all in one setting, I suggest you give it a look.
