RightRice - Original (7oz. Pack of 6) - Made from Vegetables - High Protein, Vegan, non GMO, Gluten Free

I ordered the original flavor (plain) and followed the cooking instructions exactly, but the end product was a little soupy. Per the instructions, I used 1-1/3 cups boiling water for the entire package; I will try 1 cup of water in the future. However, after refreigerating the soupy Right Rice overnight, I heated it in a saucepan and that took care of the extra liquid. I mixed the rice with browned impossible meat, minced sauteed mushrooms, kale, fresh peas, and tomato sauce-- it was fantastic! I never thought I would like a rice-like shape/texture in place of pasta, but I love it! The flavor is neutral and I look forward to experimenting with it further. The flavor was very slightly affected by the detergent/perfume aroma from the Amazon shipping pouch, so I will look into ordering directly from Right Rice. I'm tired of Amazon's blue & white plastic shipping pouches being doused in a heavy detergent/perfume scent that transfers to the contents. I've had to return several items that absorbed the detergent smell. I wish someone at Amazon would do something about this ongoing issue because it's ruining products for people who don't want their stuff to smell or taste like laundry detergent/perfume.

While this has some rice flour in it, it was way more protein than rice and is a great substitute if you’re like our family and trying to stay to a keto- or paleo-type diet as much as possible and you can’t eat common substitutes such as cauliflower. Product arrived just as it was described (I ordered to "plain" flavor). I've only tried it once so far and it was just so-so; I wasn't a big fan of the taste by itself, however served under beef and gravy it was fine. I'm still learning the cooking process as mine was mushy, but in all fairness it could have been the amount of water and the time it sat in the pot before serving. I will try another pouch in the coming weeks; I'm not ready to give up on it yet!

I was very pleased by this rice alternative. I didn't follow the cooking instructions because that isnt how I enjoy my rice. I like risotto. This product has enough rice starch in it to make a creamy risotto, with some differences. This rice doesn't swell, so if your counting carbs or calories you need to measure because the serving size will look smaller. Secondly, this product cooks FAST. A regular risotto may take 45 min of stirring. This took less liquid and far less time, about 10 min. It makes it a good option for a week night, but it did throw the timing of my meal off. I held off adding the parmesan, added more water and reheated it without a problem 30 min later. Came out perfect.

I was thrilled to find RightRice. I refrain from eating rice (except for wild rice and occasionally brown rice) and rice-style pastas like orzo because of my dietary choices. Finding this product helps me keep my pantry stocked with healthier options for all kinds of yummy recipes. Knowing that RightRice is vegan and non-GMO is very important to me, as well. I cook A LOT, and RightRice is "just right" for my family's diet and for many recipes that I prepare for my food clients!

I know right rice tastes great, I had the cilantro lime already. Spoiler: It does not taste like rice on its own. If you've had pasta made from lentils or chickpeas, its very similar to that as that's what it essentially is (although somewhat better imo). However, its insanely easy to make and with my meal I could hardly tell it wasn't medium grain rice but definitely not a replacement for jasmine or basmati rice lol. I also ate it later pretty much on its own and it was filling as well as delicious. PROBLEM IS I really needed a plain flavor for a dish. Instead of original, I was sent garlic and herb. Amazon didn't allow exchanges or returns so I'm stuck with this I guess? Maybe there's a way to make it right but I'm going to dock a couple stars and warn others you might not get what you ordered from amazon but I still recommend this product.

My son has been bootlegging this wonderful rice up to me so I googled it to see where I could buy it myself. Thank goodness I can. I love that the rice is made from veggies!! I ordered several types. Today I made the risotto Parmesan and I must say, until I actually added some parm to it, only then could I taste it. I loved it none the less. My favorite so far is the mushroom. I will be ordering more of it for sure. Great comfort food. Winter is ahead! PS There was a label oner the word"Style" so I all fairness I did not understand that meaning. Yes, I will buy it again.

The texture is okay but the taste is off...it tastes chemical and overly processed. My tongue actually burned after eating it. And I purchased the original flavor which I thought would be more basic and that I can add my own flavoring. I really could not eat it. And Amazon will not accept a return. I really wanted to like it but I cannot recommend that you buy it. If you want to try it, buy a package at whole foods. And since Amazon won't take it back, if you pay shipping, I'll give it to you.
