4-Inch Hard Rubber Brayer - Pop-in Roller for Block Printing, Printmaking, and Ink Applications

Love these, especially the fact that you can pop out the roller. Probably the pop-out feature is for cleaning, and that does help, but I like to pop out the roller and wrap twine or rubber bands around it to roll in ink/paint and make interesting linear features in artwork. Works great so I bought a second one because I got the first one kinda icky after neglecting to clean it properly. Still works for some things (like if I want an irregular surface). So now I have one for smooth surfaces, too, which, I'm sure, is the original intent.

This is my first brayer tool. I had to have one to properly ink my large intricate stamps. What a difference this has made. The stamps I have that just don't ink perfectly, that don't get all-over inking when I stamp them directly on the pad, the brayer solves that problem. I have an inexpensive uneven white stamp pad that I haven't been able to use because it messes up the stamps every time. When I loaded the brayer with white ink and applied it to my stamp with the brayer, it came out perfect each time. I clean the brayer with baby wipes. Very easy. All the reviews pointed to this brayer brand and they were right. This is the one. Happy Stamping

Nice brayer that helps press papers together for adhesion. Haven't used with paint yet, but wrote the company to find out how to clean. Manufacturer suggest mild soap and water. I asked if I could use diaper wipes if I'm not near water source. It was suggested that I do not use diaper wipes because the ingredients might break down the rubber roller. That was a bummer and is why I only gave four stars.

I use this to evenly spread wood glue. Works great for that purpose and the wood glue washes right off the roller, or peels off if dried on.

I love this tool! It saves glue compared to using a brush since the glue spreads much thinner. Also much quicker and easier than using a brush. After use, I roll it over a paper towel a few times to clean most of the glue off the roller and then use water to clean the rest. Handle is very sturdy and the roller is easy to remove and reinstall.

Excellent budget brayer.

I use this to spread wood glue and it does a great job of creating and even spread. Cleanup is simple.

Works perfectly for mixed media. great price too.

Ich brauchte so eine Walze, weil ich eine bestimmte Technik beim Stempel ausprobieren wollte, um Hintergründe zu gestalten. Dafür war es unverzichtbar, daß die Walze herausnehmbar ist (man wickelt dann Gummibänder drum und bekommt einen unregelmäßigen Hintergrund). Das geht bei den normalen Linolwalzen nicht, daher hab ich mich umgeschaut und bin über diese gestolpert. Preis schien mir angemessen und ich hatte sogar noch das Glück, einen Warehouse-Deal zu erwischen, weil wohl eine zurückgeschickt worden war. Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Keine Ahnung, warum der andere Kunde sie zurückgeschickt hat. Ja, sie ist "nur" aus Plastik, aber sehr stabil. Liegt gut in der Hand und die Walze ist problemlos herausnehmbar. Läßt sich gut mit arbeiten. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top. // Update 15.02.2020 Für die bisher ausprobierten Techniken war ich mit dem Brayer absolut zufrieden. Leider muß ich heute doch einen Stern abziehen, und zwar habe ich diese Walze das erste Mal zusammen mit der Gelliplate benutzt. Dabei mußte ich feststellen, daß die Ränder der Walze Streifen machen, wenn man die Farbe verteilt. Das ist mit einer anderen Walze nicht passiert. Ich weiß nicht, warum mir nie aufgefallen ist, daß die Walze offenbar "scharfkantig" ist, jedenfalls wenn die Unterlage weich (aus Gel) ist. Sogar wenn man kaum aufdrückt, lassen sich einige Streifen an den Kanten nicht vermeiden. Ich hab die Kanten jetzt mit einer Schere "abgerundet", hat leider auch nicht viel gebracht. Von daher werde ich mir für das Arbeiten mit Gelliplate einen anderen Brayer bestellen. Bleibe für andere Techniken auf jeden Fall bei dieser Empfehlung, aber nicht für Monoprint!

I used this on a gel plate - it worked really well.

The handle is plastic, but seems quite strong, whilst the business end of the roller looks to be made from high quality rubber. All in all, very good value for money.

As expected. Hard rubber brayer. Rolls easily and smoothly. Comes apart for cleaning. Speedball products have always been of a high quality.
