Just fantastic watch. I bought a second one!
Utterly fantastic watch. That is hard to do!! After I had it for a month, I ordered a second one, still in its manila envelope. It comes in a big manila envelope that fits in your mailbox, so no box left on your doorstep. It is NOT solar or radio-controlled, but mine get off by ~4 seconds in six months!! It is comfortable, an almost impossible achievement for any watch. My Breitling Intruder is comfortable, but that is because Breitling, at those prices, pays attention to how a watch balances on your wrist, designs its bracelets so the watch and bracelet work together to be comfortable. Some of the big gun cheaper brands- you know who I mean- the big 3 names, will sell you a watch that is just annoying to wear, thinking you'll be dissatisfied and try again, and again. THIS sucker gets it right. It is incredibly comfortable. That's one reason I bought 2 of them. Some Casios with the dual level screen are dark, weirdly dark to read. NOT THIS. It is as contrasty as the best of the digitals. A huge plus with this watch is the buttons on the side. The G-shocks have them heavily recessed and hard as hell to push. OR a watch will have little round metal buttons that are hard to press. THIS WATCH GETS THAT RIGHT TOO. IT HAS 'FLIPPERS" FOR BUTTONS- VERY EASY AND COMFORTABLE TO PRESS. The other watch makers just cannot figure that out. No matter how long they sit around the big table playing with watches, they just can't figure it out. I have NEVER had one of these flippers accidentally get pushed. Never, so it works!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gee guys, its that hard to figure out? And how many of us are really piloting helos into the mtns of Afghanistan every day or Iraq or Syria where a mis-pushed button would spell death for all aboard? I like the green color on the dial. It is not quite as armored up as a G shock, but I have sort of hit it on the side of the gym locker putting my hand in, and no damage at all.. One little vulnerability it has is this: See that grey color on those two bulges of the case at 3 and 9 oclock? Well, that is grey PAINT on the plastic. I dropped mine on my sidewalk and that will scratch off. That is on the 9 oclock position on mine, and just tiny up near the top of the bulge, so on the "up wrist side" so nobody will ever see it. But you have to drop the watch on concrete to achieve that. That tiny scratch is so minor and un-apparent on mine, that I still will wear it anywhere and nobody, and I mean nobody, will ever see it. I'd wear it to Buck House or the WH, for sure. If I get elected President of the United States, I'll still wear it. As you cycle through the home page (local time) , which shows the date, and you go through world time (I leave mine set for the time in Paris), stopwatch (one hour and starts over), timer (24 hour count-down timer, useful as hell for timing parking meters, alarm ( I have never used this), and back to the home screen, through all of those you always see your local time shown. Some G shocks I believe cant do that, and people gripe. The one with the rectangular screen has that problem. Not this. You see your local time in all screens, and in the main screen, you see the date. It has a light, which I don't use much to save the battery, but I will use in a movie theater, and it has a compass for when you get lost in the Sierra, as people do every winter. Dammed accurate compass too. How accurate does it have to be to walk out of the Sierra? So there it is: This watch has it ALL. They actually got everything right, and the big "A" on-line seller charges $40 for it. Geez. 40! Buy it. You won't regret it. If you absolutely destroy it falling off a rock-face, you'll pay 40 to replace it. I'm wearing mine as I write this. Now off to the gym and I wear it there 3x a week. Big digits, easy to read at a glance, good looking, light weight, as comfortable as any watch I own, big, easy to push flippers on the sides, and dirt cheap. You can ask Rolex owners if they'd like to set their watch by yours. One guy on here said he's had his for four years and the batt. is still powering it. It is as close to the perfect watch as anybody has ever come up with. Am I communicating that I like it?

JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING
Hi...I may bounce around a bit, but please bear with me...Thanks !!! So I have a couple relatively expensive analog watches, which look nice and keep time well...They serve their purpose...My only gripe is that their purpose doesn't entail much... Time and Date, THE END So, why this Twin Sensor watch ? I own one type of a Dakota digital clip watch (pictured) that has EVERYTHING I want in a watch, but it's a huge, bulky bastard, and it's annoying to have to keep on a belt loop for everyday use...Great for camping/hiking though, if that's your thing... So I set out to find a digital wristwatch that could do everything this camping/hiking watch could do...It took more time than I thought it would to find the perfect combination...At one point I figured it simply didn't exist...The biggest obstacle were terrible descriptions which either told me too little, or were misleading...Okay, long story short, found it... Here's what I wanted that my clip watch has... -All digital Time, Day, Date -An alarm that made plenty of noise, not vibration -A dependable compass -A countdown timer that chimed once the time was up -A fully functional, real deal, stopwatch -Full backlighting, not just a bulb that lit up only part of the face -Hourly chime option -Buttons that beep so I know I've engaged it -Water resistance -A mesh strap rather than rubber -Multiple time zone capability This Casio Twin Sensor has everything on that list, but it keeps on going...This list below includes what's ON TOP of everything included in the list above (I'm going to treat it like a computer for ease of writing) -The hompage indicates AM or PM -The homepage indicates which functions you are using on different pages, so if the timer is on for example, there is a timer symbol on the homepage -There are FIVE alarms, including one with a snooze function -The compass has more features than I can write down easily...Let's just say it's fully functional...Can do everything a compass should... -The stopwatch is also a fully functioning, real deal feature, just like the compass... -Backlighting is not your usual backlight...Instead of illuminating the entire face to see the black icons, this backlight does the opposite, and turns everything that is black into green...And it's bright...You can also adjust it from 1 second to 3 seconds... -Each notification has a slightly different sound... -Thermometer, but I've never taken it off of my wrist to bother using it...No idea how well it works, but if the rest of the watch is any indicator, it should work just fine... -Safe to use buttons underwater... -Hourly chime can be turned off -Countdown timer can be looped so that it automatically starts over, and over, and over...I use the timer on a 5 minute loop because that's the most common time I use it for... -There are a total of 5 different pages, including homepage... -The second page indicates the time of another city or country so you can quickly check the time in the state or country of your choice...I believe there are over 50 city codes to choose from... This next bit of info may be a "So what ?" to some folks, but I thought it was pretty clever... A VERY COOL DETAIL OF THIS WATCH -As you scroll through the pages, each page beeps...They all sound the same except for the homepage...This means, if you have remembered enough, you can access and use functions by sound without having to look at the watch... Regarding the green strap...If you don't like green there are kits available to change it to black straps...I bought one of these kits but when I saw how dark the green actually was, I decided not to bother with the black after all...In many cases it's a dark green that's almost indistinguishable from black...(It's only an obviously green strap under a strong light, like with the Day Glo bulb I took the picture with)...Here is the name of the black kit anyway, just in case dark green is not to your liking... WRISTARMOR 25mm Nylon strap Compatible with Casio SGW-100/SGW-200/GW-3000B/GW-3500B Leather watch band I'm leaving a LOT out, but I hopefully I've written something of use to you... This is an extreme amount of watch for the money... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Good Luck !!!

Nice for the Price.
Ref SGW-100-1V model. After 10 days in my possession it is Nice watch for the price. I like the look of this one compared to the other models. Positive read out it is easy to see the digital numbers. Sensors do work make sure that U calibrate the compass and input the proper declination in it for the location U R in. Use NCEI Geomagnetic Calculators on the (net) to get proper declination. Temp sensor calibrate it first, although if U read the temp whit watch on UR wrist it will show temp including UR body temp. For proper/correct temp reading removed it from UR wrist and let it adjust to the ambient temp. Multi Alarms useless can not hear them. Other functions are nice . If UR not looking for anything fancy/expansive watch this One is the right One. I LIKE IT.

Favorite watch of all time
I freaking love this thing. Its comfortable, look good, and is rugged enough what I need it for. The backlight looks really clean when activated, I adore the shade of blue they used. It has alarms up the wazoo, stopwatch, and 1 alt timezone preset (everything you come to expect of Casio). But, this thing has a thermometer and compass which sets it above the rest. Even if you aren't an outdoorsman, I find knowing your directions quite beneficial for daily life. At least it gives you more understanding of positioning and navigation. I lost this watch once and was so distraught I searched for months until my girlfriend purchased me another. I still search to this day for the original...

GREAT WATCH!
I'm extremely impressed with the Casio SGW100. The watch colorway is attractive (black band, black casing, orange and navy highlights) and looks rugged and cool. This watch comes with lots of features, and if you're just a regular guy like me, you'll find that it does the job. I did read some comments about the face being a little difficult to read as it has a dark background, and I can see the problem some may have- although I don't find it to be a issue for me personally, I actually kinda dig it. The watch illuminates for about three seconds and that can help sometimes. The band is comfortable, but I seem to be in between two settings, one is just slightly large, the other is just a little too snug. This allows the watch to slide ever so slightly when I am active, but that's a wearer issue, not manufacturing. The compass and thermometer are neat functions. The thermometer does read your skin temp vs air and you would need to take the watch off for a few minutes to get what appears to be a fairly accurate temperature reading. I'm no advanced boy scout, but the compass also appears accurate after calibration. Plenty of alarm functions (if you really NEED one, most use their phone), stop watch, timer and World Time function. I have a friend that lives in Italy, and I leave the World Time function on "Rome"- one button push shows me the time where she lives. The watch is waterproof 200 meters, or 20BAR, whatever that nonsense means. I'm not a diver, but I do swim a fair amount, and "20BAR" is plenty waterproof. I definitely recommend for the "Average Joe" who would like a nice, attractive, sporty watch made by a quality company for a very reasonable price. At the $55-ish price point, this watch is well worth the purchase!

Versatile, everyday watch
Very impressed with the watch. I wanted a watch with a compass and the compass on this watch works well and has been quite accurate. The large, easy to read display was something I did not realize I would appreciate so much. The illumination functions well and makes the watch that much more versatile. I was concerned about the watch being a bit "chunky" on my wrist but it fits quite nicely and I am glad a I chose this model versus the other, larger models.

Rugged with style
I simply LOVE this watch, using it right now as I am writing this review. You cannot fail with Casio watches, specially one with these many features in a rugged casing. IT is not a G shock but indeed it could be one. I do not treat it so lightly, it has fallen accidentally, being dragged against wall accidentally and still no marks. The colors are just awesome and its easy to read in any light.

SGW100-1V - Alarm is barely audible
I was looking for a rather inexpensive watch which had alarm and countdown timer functions. I found the Casio SGW100-1V had a decent number of features including the ones I was looking for. It has: Time, Day, Date, Stop Watch, Countdown Timer (with repeat function), Several Alarms, World Time, Compass, Temperature, Button Beep (which can be turned off) etc. The watch arrived and I was a bit concerned as the packing wasn't done with the greatest care. The watch box was sitting in a larger cardboard box with a couple of those large air filled things to one side of the watch box. This meant that only one side of the watch box had any padding or protection from shock or damage. The other sides of the watch box were all up against the sides of the cardboard box it was in. It also rattled a bit when lightly shaken. I also noticed that one of the labels on the box said "Returns Center". I'd sort of been wondering if this watch hadn't been a return or refurbished or something based on the way it was packaged and that fact that there was no packing slip in with the watch. This is something I've never experienced before with Amazon. There is always a packing slip in with the item. It really makes me wonder if someone didn't return this item for the same reason before I got it. I did go through the reviews to see if the alarm sound being very faint was a common problem (to see if I completely missed that when going through them before buying the watch). I only found a couple of other reviews that spoke about the alarm not being loud enough. I was somewhat concerned about the watch band fitting me. I have very large hands and wrists and the watch fits fine. There were still several notches left over on the watchband. All of the functions were pretty intuitive to set up and use. I can't speak to the compass or temperature functions as I never got around to using them. I looked in the manual a few times to look up things like city code for setting the time zone, etc and in no time flat it was set up and ready to go. There was just one problem. The alarm and countdown timer beep is very faint. If you're sitting there with not a lot going on you might hear it. If there is any other ambient noise or if you were sleeping, forget it, you won't hear it. Since the alarm and countdown timer was my primary reason for buying the watch I had no choice but to return it. I had no other problems with the watch other than the beep for the alarm and count down timer was just not loud enough to be heard in anything but the quietest of settings. It's a decent watch except for the alarm not being loud enough.

Maravilloso

Illuminator light is great, the dial lights up in deep green and ...
I am writing this review after using it for last 7 days.I received the watch in 12 days from dispatch date. It was sent through ARAMEX courier , seller is from California. This model is not available in India. The packaging of Casio group is not at all impressive. Only a stand to keep the watch covered in paper box. In India, Casio watch comes in either hardy plastic box and for G-Shock in metal case. So I really don't find it impressive as it is a imported product , coming from USA. Now, about the watch: 1. Looks quite hardy and rugged one. 2. Illuminator light is great, the dial lights up in deep green and digit lights up separately in light green which creates contrast. 3. Made in China (Not thailand make) 4. Band is resin but I don't think its long lasting...let's see in coming years. 5. Band buckle is plastic made and not hardy one , I thought it would be in metal/steel like other company's watch or like Casio G-shock comes in resin band but the buckle is steel. Even cheap watch of timex provides metal buckle in resin band. But this band comes with plastic buckle and I handle it carefully (like not to wear it tight as during removal from wrist the buckle may break if u pull hard) 6. Time is showing accurate.World time and other basic features are good. 7. Alarm sound is a bit low than other casio watch. Snooze alarm function works great specially in morning when you find it quite challenging for waking up. 8. Now lets talk about the main features of the watch i.e.Digital compass and Temperature sensor : a. Digital compass is quite accurate. I checked it with my mobile compass too. No calibration is required. Don't calibrate it as soon as u get the watch. Check first with mobile compass or any other compass before calibration. b. Temperature sensor shows the body temperature so as many people said in previous review, you have to keep your watch open for sometime, then you may get correct temperature. But I can suggest you to subtract 3 to 4 degrees to get correct temperature when you are wearing it. Though it depends person to person for different body temperature but 3 to 4 degree is general.difference from correct temperature. 9. It is 200 meter water resistant and it really is.You can dip it in bucket of water or get into swimming pool. But don't operate the watch/press button as long as you are in water or your hand is wet. 10. Overall it's a good buy...the watch looks quite good and am satisfied. 11. no warranty in India/or outside USA but that's not an issue. I am using casio watches for last 5 years and I can say it does not malfunction within 1 year. It may shows up some problem after 3 years.
