Placing my 4th order
My 1st order I injected 10cc of Golden Teacher spore solution without reading the instructions. This was too much liquid, only supposed to use 4cc, which caused contamination. My next 2 worked perfectly. My only complaint is there needs to be another 1/2 to 1lb of manure. The vast majority of negative reviews are due to human error (except the ppl who claim to have received precontaminated bags). A sterile environment and sterile inoculation techniques are vital or you will fail. I've been growing for over 20 years and I still have contamination occasionally so to blame a product you've only tried once for contamination or lack of mycelium growth is ridiculous. Of course it's cheaper to make your own spawn bags/jars but for beginners, and lazy bastards like me, this kit is perfect. My last harvest I got a few grams shy of 1/4lb dried and still have 6cc of spore solution left. That comes out to about $3.50 a gram so if you're interested in mycology or are just sick of paying street prices for something you can grow without need of special lights etc. and zero odor I'd recommend getting this

Product was as advertised and contamination free.
The grain bag was well hydrated and contamination free. My LC colonized the entire bag in about 15 days without issue. I haven’t used the substrate as of yet because it’s being saved for a specific strain. This kit is a decent value considering how booming at home mycology is currently but it’s still a little pricey for the amount of grain and substrate that you get. The price is kinda to be expected I suppose since you’re getting sterilized product that’s in bags with filters and self healing inoculation points. I would absolutely buy again for small quick grows or experimenting with a new dung loving specie. Edit: I went ahead and used the substrate that is part of the kit and it was fantastic. The grain spawn colonized it quickly, around 10 days if I remember correctly, and when it came time for first harvest I had almost a full canopy. Got 3 total harvest and probably could’ve got a 4th but I was having to really nurse it and pay close attention on the 3rd harvest. It held moisture really well and when I soaked the cake in between harvest it seemed to absorb the water quite well. This kit is as good as it gets for hobby type mycology.

Contaminated!
I ordered this kit before I was ready to inoculate my spores,so didn't get to innoculate till about 2 weeks later. I did, however, keep it in the box untouched til ready to use so not sure if that really had anything to do with it but I used the same method with a combined substrate bag w/no issues before. The grain got sour rot & manure substrate was contaminated w/trichoderma! Which is very difficult to get rid of. I will be sticking to what works for me in the future. I had other bags growing at the same time & they are still contam free. That's what I get for trying to make a bigger yield. Lesson learned & back to the combined substrate bags I was using before!

Awesome! Amazing customer service! Great products too!
This is the second of the quick kits we got. The first is doing great and colonizing really well, haven't added the grain spawn to the bulk sub yet but I'm sure it'll be great! Now on to the second grow kit. I inoculated the bag from the second kit along with one of out grows BRF jars. Somehow the grain bag got bacteria in it and I had to throw it away but the BRF jar is going strong. I told Mike from out grow about my bag contamination and he said he'd send me a replacement. Well I got it today and there were 2 rye bags to replace my 1 rye bag!! I understand that things happen and contamination no matter how careful can sti happen so I didn't expect much but 2 bags is way over what I was hoping for!! Out grow is a great company their name is all over the different mushroom forums (shroomer, shroomology, etc...) With nothing but good reviews! And I've seen people complaining about their product on those forums and Mike the owner himself popped in and took care of the situation! When buying with out grow I know I can make my purchase with confidence that I will be taken care of! Thank you so much OUT GROW!!

Didnt expect success so fast but substrate is too dry
Product is an easy way to effectively grow mecylium (if i spelled that wrong idclol) once innoculated leave it be and wait nothing is fool proof and theres never garuntee of absolutle certainty but if saywith this grow kit there is a good chance of success thwy nesscary steps have been taken for you buy two and thwn therws no way you could meas em both up lol but wait theres more substrate is too dry i knew that it was sryer than the info i had read but i went ahead with anyways after reading some of the posted questions and customer reveiws the sller insisted to another customer who also was saying it was dry to just do it that it works since im not an expert i thouhht this is these guys bizness maybe they know something i dont .....welllsubstrate shoukd alwats be a fueld capacity when soawni g to bulk or u will get overlay which is where im at as last ditch effort im forgoing the first flush and dunking to rehydrate the substratte cuz the mecelium us stressed and turning blue im 34 days into this and rehretti g second guessing myself. Worked perfectly for a beginner!
I was able to innoculate the grain bag with no problem at all! I was NOT even remotely close to being sterile when I did it either, probably should have been but it still worked! The mycelium took about 2 months but that was my fault. At 10 - 20% colonized I should have broken up the mycelium and shook the bag, then it would have taken way less time. It's all mixed in the manure right now and I have a couple baby mushrooms, but I'll be honest, I think I screwed up and kept it too wet, now I'm trying to save it, and it seems to be working. I loved the price on this kit and how well it seems to work. I'll be ordering this again and again and again and again and....
