Borosilicate Glass Tubing: 4mm(OD) x 12 Inches: Pk 5 PC

I thought this was nice glass to work with. The shipment from OnlineScienceMall delivered without any breakage, it was well-padded. What I did was made a mark where I wanted a cut, wrapped several layers of tape to the end, and very gently chucked it in a cordless hand drill. With the drill turning, I used a carbide tipped scribe and gently scribed a v-grove in the tube at the mark, or slightly beyond the mark so you get the length that you want. I then stopped the drill, removed the tube and gently applied pressure at the groove. It breaks very cleanly, but I still cleaned it up and removed the sharp edges with sandpaper. I can't say it's the ideal way to cut it, but it's worked very reliably for me. However you make your cut, use padded gloves and a face shield.

Huge variation in size. Either that, or I got a size assortment. 1 of 5 was also broken.

Used it for capacitive humidity sensors. Can't use PLA, PETG, Nylon or Epoxy--Plastics of any kind generally absorb moisture and skew the readings over time.

Got what I thought this would be. Item is fine and worked as one would expect. No problems for glass tube cutting, I did not try to bend it with heat though.

take a file...anything with a corner....score a line in the glass - give it a couple back and fourths - snap immediately. glass breaks at the weak spot. immediately means just that. if you wait until tomorrow the glass actually "heals" itself? it sounds ridiculous....but you'll thank me when glass shards arent bouncing off your face and into your lab set.
