RotopaX RX-2S Storage Pack - 2 Gallon Capacity

Can't say too much. They just work - They are NOT waterproof, however, so I use Ziploc bags for anything I put in there that must stay dry.

For the price, this was a great investment to store roadside equipment. You'll want to buy the RX-LOX-PM Pack Mount Lock with Keys Locking Pack Mount for RotopaX LOX-PM Fuel Pack or Storage Box and Water Pack Gas Can Mounts and Fuelpax Standard Pack. It's the only way to go and will keep your storage secure from being ripped off. These do tend to leak a bit, so just FYI.

This review is for the 2-gallon storage pack. I wanted to put jumper cables, tools, gloves, etc in the pack and mount it in the cargo area of my 4Runner. I was worried about all the reviews that said this box didn't have enough storage capacity. I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I gathered the stuff in the picture. Jumper cables, gloves, 2 bungee cords, trailer wiring harness, adjustable straps, 2 screw drivers, crescent wrench, channel locks, needle nose pliers, diagonal cutters, zip ties, and these adapter thingies for my bike rack. To keep like items together and separated from everything else, I put the tools in a little gray bag I had lying around, bungee cords in a camping stuff sack, wiring harness in a zip-lock bag, and bike rack adapters in a zip-lock bag. The stuffed everything in the Rotopax box. As you can see in the picture, it worked. There's even a little space leftover, which I plan to use for a roll of duct tape. The box plus gear weighs 18.1 pounds, which is heavier than I thought it would weigh. I'm afraid the weight will break the plastic trim panel I originally planned to mount it to. I'll need to see if I can devise a method of securing it without breaking anything.

love the storage container! I put my pistol, ammo, and other stuff in there and dont have to worry about it getting dirty or wet! Doesnt have a dust seal but i havent had to worry too much about that here in AK. I like that it can be easily stored anywhere on my wheeler no problem. And it can be locked to the other gas cans firmly. Only thing is its still a little too expensive but I only really needed to buy one so it wasnt that bad

I like the design and intent of this product. 2 gallon capacity, looks like a fuel storage container, but is actually a storage compartment for tools and or necessities. Packed with consideration I am able to successfully store 4 tie downs, gloves, flashlight Allen keys, wire cutters, pliers and many other items I am forgetting to list. Great storage for hand tools you might need in a pinch without taking up trunk or interior space. Have not had water get inside unit but simply put anything in absolutely cannot afford to get wet inside a plastic baggy then in the unit.

Even though this box does not hold a lot of stuff if you pack it just right you can get a surprising amount of stuff in these boxes they’re very well-made and you won’t be disappointed I also carpeted mine inside and you can’t hear a single noise come out of the box

Yup, don’t buy it unless you’re keeping it inside the vehicle, if mounted to the exterior it’s worthless, as water will indeed enter and destroy anything inside. I agree with other reviews that for the price, and for the sole reason these are designed with exterior mount options in mind there should’ve been some forethought from the manufacturer. Not what I expected but I guess I can toss it in the trunk... I’m sure it’ll look pretty cool in there bouncing around. Thanks Roto!

After receiving two rotopax storage packs I quickly noticed one of the lids was terribly warped and didn't seal well at all. I'm totally aware these are not "waterproof" however I assumed the lid should at least fit properly. Rotopax sent me a warranty replacement but unfortunately the replacement pax had a closure lid that was oversized and again didn't seal well at all, WTF👎🏼👎🏼. For $120 bucks ea. and $50 to attach it I expect more from a made in the USA company. If I hadn't gone to all the effort mounting the two DLX Pack Mounts on my custom off-road trailer I would have shipped it all back, those mounting holes are permanent. So for $170 bucks if you don't need to keep your lunch dust free or dry socks dry or anything else theses will be perfect in my opinion...

Considering the price and the fact it was being fitted to a new vehicle, this item is poor quality and substandard. I also had a ridiculous explanation from the supplier as to why the item was marked/scratched.
