desertcart.com: Cottage Creek Butter Dish Ceramic 8 Ounce Butter Dish/Butter Serving Tray [Light Blue] Review: Ideally sized. - Looking for a small dish to place in a refrigerator after the cheap plastic one got melted. Most I'd found had lids and were too bulky to fit in the reefer door. This has been the ideal replacement, both in size and in use. It functional and attractive, whether on the counter or table. The handle also makes it very easy to grab hold of without putting a finger in the butter. I should have thrown out the plastic one a long time ago. I really do like this one. Review: The color is appealing and I have been very satisfied with this purchase - I prefer handled butter dishes for ease in use. I ordered two and would purchase it again for a gift. It is not a heavy pottery, but the price is commensurate with the quality. The color is appealing and I have been very satisfied with this purchase.

It is now in the garbage can.
Whenever the butter melts even slightly, it drips out the open end by the finger handle. There isn't even a lip. I inadvertently messed up a rug. It is now in the garbage can.

Quality isn't that great
I returned this item because the area where you place the butter had a very sharp point in it that almost cut my hand. I didn't want to take the chance of it cutting one of my grandkids. Had it been a thicker, sturdier ceramic, I would have ordered another one, but just seemed "chinsy" to me.

Don't trust this knockoff!
What a surprise! "Made in China" sticker on the bottom. Amazon description, box, and enclosed "Tumbleweed Pottery" label with Stephen Smith's reproduced signature implies "handcrafted" in North Carolina. Cost seems high for knockoff product. I like the color, design, and size but haven't used it yet.

Some quality issues, but servicable
There's nothing really wrong with my butter dish, but the production seems mass market. Several little flecks of hardened clay or glaze are on the surface where the butter sits. It makes sliding a pat off with a knife difficult at times. However, it was inexpensive, and it provides a lot more personality to my kitchen then other butter dishes I looked at. I use it when my favorite is in the dishwasher.
