Softide 5100 or 8100 Conversion Kit and Grey Remote Version- No Tilt Feature -Replaces Lost or Broken Remote Control for Adjustable Bed

To my surprise, the company shipped my new remote and switching box by Express Mail for free! It came 5 days earlier than expected. The directions were well written and when followed exactly, can lead to a happy customer. HOWEVER, the installation is amazingly complicated, in that after removing the mattress, the base must be turned on its side and work must be done while standing/kneeling within the confines of the bed frame. I had expected to be able to "reformat" the new remote and be done, but quickly realized that this was a major project. At least six electrical connections must be removed, the old box taken out of its secure strapping, and the new box secured underneath the base after reconnecting the 4 (or 6) electrical components. Then all cords must be carefully secured to prohibit interference with the moving frame. Once completed, the new remote must be checked for proper installation. Then the base unit has to be flipped back on its legs and the mattress replaced. Whew! For a 75 year old, this was a Herculean task. Nevertheless, it can be done. I would buy it again if needed, but with much different installation expectations.

Item arrived faster than expected, and was exactly what I needed for my softide adjustable bed, remote. It came with good instructions and fairly simple to replace.
