Sumac, if you haven’t already had the joy of tasting it yet, is like a powered lemon, but much more mild, and with a more complex flavor. It’s great on it own, I like it a lot on hummus, or as a component to marinades and spice blends. It plays nice with many other flavors and is very versatile. The only problem is that most grocery stores that sell sumac only do so in small containers. If you’re a sumac fan you know this simply won’t do. Which is why I was so happy to find this extra large bottle for sale. I’m very happy about this purchase, to me it takes just as fresh and delightful as the much smaller, and more expensive containers, that I’d been buying in the stores. I highly recommend you buy right away, and consume with a heavy hand.

For a while, I've been really enjoying the tasted of the Bandia brand of Za'atar spice that I've been eating it right out of the container, direct. And couldn't quite put a finger on exactly what it was that I liked about it so much. Note: I have had my gallbladder recently removed and I don't advice eating Za'atar or sesame seeds directly in bulk like I have been doing, considering it's high in fat and causes me to run to the bathroom at odd times! I just can't resist the taste! So I've had cravings for the specific Badia brand of Za'atar, and now I know why. It's because of the content of Sumac that they add to it. So I figured why not go right to the source of my cravings and try it with sesame seeds? Well, this Badia SUMAC is excellent with toasted sesame seeds! I can't buy enough of this stuff, as I go through a 4.75oz container in less than 2 days! I'm trying more to use this combination as a seasoning rather than eating it directly, which would be healthier, but it really is delicious with just sesame seeds. I've used it as a seasoning on the cooked vegetables I dislike to make them more palatable, and I suggest you do too!

Couldn't find this in ANY local store, but wanted it for a Mediterranean recipe, this sumac was fresh, bright, and flavorful. really high quality especially for the price. Will definitely buy again.

It isn't in constant use, and when I do use it, it's because nothing else will do. This bottle will probably last me for years - and that's OK with me. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Since we started our health journey I have been making my own hummus. Yes, you can add paprika and oil on the top, but sumac makes such a big difference. Perfect blending with hummus and pretty much anything Mediterranean. It is a great spice to have on hand. If you prefer to buy your hummus in the store, first off, get a good one. Then you can dress it up with all kinds of spices and extra virgin olive oil. But the biggest addition should be sumac. I don’t know if it has any specific health benefits but it does add a great taste. Highly recommended and it will last a long time.

It's a big bottle. Not sure from ingredients just what it is . But it's a little spicy. Very good

There is nothing wrong with the product at all. It was well packaged, the sumac is fresh, fragrant and has a clear and tasty flavor. I am very pleased with it…well up until I woke up the next morning having an allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital. I am allergic to cashews and I HAD no idea that sumac is related to cashews. This allergy is really NOT the fault of the manufacturer or company and I’m more upset that I’m allergic and can’t use it than anything else. Infact, as long as you are not allergic to cashew as, you will highly enjoy the fresh fragrance and flavor this product. If I had no allergic to this spice, I would continue to use it, but I will suggest this product to anyone who wanted a different spice flavor than the normal traditional spices. In summary: Very happy with the flavor and freshness Upset that I can’t use it anymore because of being allergic.
