My computer suddenly died and wouldn't even properly boot into the BIOS. I was terrified that my computer finally died — it's an older 2017 Inspiron 15 gaming model. I have changed the HDD to an SSD and it's breathed new life into it, but it’s still old and at risk of succumbing to its age. When I looked up the blinking LED that is in front of the computer's base and what the pattern indicated, it turned out to be the CMOS battery failing. I decided it was better than nothing to attempt to replace it and see if that was the real issue. It was. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the BIOS not booting Windows correctly, but that was not because of this battery, but due to the fact that the battery before it had died and ruined the prexisting settings. Installing this battery was a breeze. I had no issues with the process, and the battery fit in the clip my laptop has just fine. I recommend this.

Looks like good quality. It has a stick on pad on the back side which is good to hold it in place (remove protective peel before sticking it down). Wire is slightly longer than stock but not an issue. Works fine as expected.

Works for me. Fits my Dell Inspiron 9400 that was no longer keeping its clock and BIOS settings when unplugged. Relatively easy to install: carefully lever up the plastic cover (the piece that covers the hinges, and the buttons above the keyboard) starting from the indentation at the right-hand side. This reveals the two screws holding the keyboard down. Pull the keyboard out of the tabs/slots at the bottom of the keyboard. No need to detach the keyboard connector (which could be a bit perilous), just carefully turn it upside down and move it out of the way. Unclip/unhook the old battery; the battery connector just pulls out, but try to tease it out carefully. Swap in the new one and then do a few reboots/shutdowns to see if the system is holding clock/bios settings. This battery comes with a little adhesive tab to hold it in place. The heatshrinking on the new battery is not as tidy as the original. If the battery doesn't click into place because of this, you might need to trim the heatshrink.

They worked perfectly! I was able to get several of my older desktops up and running again.

This was a perfect replacement batter for my old Dell E6430. It has a longer wire which worked out just fine. So far so good. I measured battery voltage before install and it was approx 3.3V. I'm glad that these are still available for old laptops!

So far so good. After one month I couldn't complain. From first day works really good.

I'll change review if there's anything different over time. I doubt I'll get 13 years like I got out of the original, but whatever; CMOS batteries are just always hit and miss no matter what. On the Latitude E6420 you'll have to trim some of the corners off. Out of clinical paranoia, I'd suggest leaving some of it behind like I did, but there's plenty of room in the location to firmly fit the thing if you cut maybe half of each corner off, which is easy. Piece of cake.

As for any CMOS laptop battery, some disassembly of the laptop is required. Once installed, it work fine.

Worked as expected..

Plug and play on a Dell Latitude 7490. The battery's adhesive wasn't sufficient, so I used a bit of Gorilla tape to secure it.
