The center of the bracket holding the chain, to the center of the other chain bracket is 35".

I am not the seller. I bought mine several months ago and it was undamaged.

How many luminous is it?

As I understand lumens, each bulb installed into the light will give a total amount of lumens based on the bulbs manufacturing specs. I chose 2600 lumen bulbs (4) from Amazon and installed them in my light fixture. This gives off plenty of light over my pool table. I hope this helps.

How is this secured to the ceiling ? Can it be installed if the chains do not line up to the studs in ceiling ?

You can attach it with hooks into the ceiling with the wire running through the chain, so you do not have to line it up with the studs.
