how long is the line without auto rewin

I just checked and it went out about 22 feet. I didn't try to force it any farther even though it says there is 25 feet of line in it. I rewinds well at 22 feet. It snaps a real sharp thin line. I assumed it was for in shop use due to the crisp line. If you used it for snapping a floor layout in construction, I don't think it would work well. It would be too thin, too short and hard to see. Hope this helps.

is this meant for snapping lines in wet weather?

It barely shows up in dry weather,. The concept seemed cool , but the ink dries to fast to snap to ground, line is so thin I can hardly grab onto it. Not sure about wet weather but I went back to my old chalk line...
