Plug and play.
This product did exactly what i needed it to. For me, I needed more SATA ports to use an additional Hard Drive. My computer has 4 native SATA ports on the Motherboard, but it had 5 slots for hard drives, so I needed this SATA Controller to add 1 more additional SATA port to my Motherboard via PCIe. Worked like a dream. The box came with a screwdriver and screws so you can change out the back plate for the card incase you need the low profile one that is included in the box, a driver disc, and 2 SATA data cables. Personally, i had no need for the low profile back plate, nor did i even need to use the driver disc because it was working when i booted back up. I literally just shut down my computer, unplugged it, opened my computer case, connected the card to a PCIe slot (any will do), attached the included SATA data cable, and ran it thru to my 5th hard drive, closed her back up, plugged in my computer and booted it. the card recognized my HD immediately, and I was good to go. I only have 1 observation. This card does lack a heatsink, so it will run about 50ยฐC+/- (122ยฐ+/-) which is OK, but too hot for my taste. If you do get this card, just make sure its not used in a computer located in a closet, or on the floor under a desk where air flow may be restricted.

Did exactly what it should
I actually tried to cancel my order for this since my original reason for buying it changed, but I was too late to cancel so I decided to just keep it for future work. Turned out to be a good decision since only 5 days after receiving it I noticed my DVD drive was not reading the disks anymore, or even showing up as a drive. I initially thought something was wrong with the drive so I swapped the drives in 2 systems and quickly figured out it was the motherboard, not the drive. I grabbed this off the shelf, installed it in my pc, connected the DVD drive to the SATA port and powered back up. The drive now shows as a device in the system and works flawlessly with anything I do. Will have to wait and see if my motherboard is going to fail in other ways, but that's a different story...

Works OK
I plugged the card in and hooked it up to my boot ssd. Got a bootmgr error. So I unhooked it from the boot drive put it back the way it was and booted up with this hooked up to a data hhd. Booted up, found the drive. And INSTALLED DRIVERS AUTOMATICALLY. After a reboot, and shutdown. I hooked up the boot drive. the drives all showed in the bios. Then booted windows fine. The speed is enhanced. I ran a drive speed tester before and after and showed a 50% increase in data transfer. So I am happy. it works fine. It adds a boot sequence dos screen and a plug n play swap in windows. I have two ssds hooked up to it and it access's both fine.

Works as advertised!
I was a bit worried a cheap PCIe SATA card wouldn't work or it would give me trouble, but this thing went in no problem and was detected immediately by windows. The box came with all the important goodies and it seemed well packaged to Amazon Frustration Free standards. The PCIe Card was packed in an anti-static bag with a small driver CD, mini screwdriver, and mounting screws for the Low-profile bracket. Unlike some of the other cheap cards this one has a black PCB, which looks nice and not out of place in my case. I installed it in my Asus X570-E motherboard 1x slot and didn't have any problems booting. I installed the drivers from the CD and was able to connect to my DVD drive perfectly in Windows 10 (This is the ASM106X card btw) . I wouldn't necessary trust a cheap card like this with important data on an SDD or large hard drive but for an optical drive it works excellently.

Support of SATA III
Nice update for a new drive. Allow the move from ATA to SATA III Note the computer bus must support an update on the bus for the card and the bus needs to be fast enough to support the speed. This would allow HDD/SSD support for one or more drives.

Decent Low-Cost SATA ExpansionโBut Donโt Expect Top-Tier Reliability
Decent Low-Cost SATA ExpansionโBut Donโt Expect Top-Tier Reliability This MHQJRH PCIe to SATA III controller card works as advertised, but itโs definitely an entry-level solution best suited for light use or troubleshootingโnot for mission-critical storage setups. Installation was easy: I popped it into an open PCIe x1 slot, connected two drives with the included SATA cables, and Windows 10 immediately recognized them without needing to install drivers. It even comes with a small screwdriver, screws, and a low-profile bracket, which was a nice touch. Performance was fair for the price. Speeds hovered close to SATA III specs during short transfers, but longer file copies caused the controller to warm up noticeably (it lacks a heatsink). For basic useโlike connecting an extra SSD or optical driveโitโs fine. But for large file transfers, RAID, or mirrored drives, it tends to hiccup or drop connections. I wouldnโt rely on it for sustained heavy workloads or data redundancy. One tip: avoid booting your OS drive from this card unless youโre comfortable tweaking BIOS settingsโitโs hit-or-miss depending on your motherboard. Also, airflow matters; the controller can run hot if installed in a poorly ventilated case. On the positive side, itโs compatible with Windows, Linux, and macOS, and I appreciated the simple plug-and-play setup. For older desktops with dead or full SATA ports, itโs a cheap and easy way to add two more connections. Bottom line: A useful budget card for adding SATA ports or reviving a dead interfaceโbut expect modest performance and stability. Great for backups or optical drives, not ideal for large RAID arrays or long transfers.

Works fine, no instructions
The product works, but had to figure out a few things with no instructions. The driver is on cd, under sata folder. I hooked up two drives to the card and saw them in device manager but they did not show up in bios and were not listed as drives. I did not think to do a disk setup... (Search for create and format hard disk partitions), so instead I used the sata ports on the main board and moved the DVD burner drive to the card and it was picked up and worked right away. I imagine creating the volume with the disks attached to card probably would have worked had I tried it then. I think I need to renew my cert.

You might have faced this situation where you are out of SATA ports in your PC (because most low or mid range Motherboard comes with 4 sata ports only) and you are wondering how to plug in one or two extra storage device (HDD/ SSD). This PCIe SATA extender comes very handy. At INR 1200 it is giving 2 extra SATA ports and also comes with 2 SATA cables. I plugged in to my Gigabyte H610M motherboard and it worked flawlessly. No additional driver was needed. Windows 10 was able to recognize the additional hard drive. It is true that we lose 1 PCIe x1 slot for this but mostly we would be having those x1 slots left empty, so this card is a nice reuse of those PCIe slots, to provide extra SATA slots which might become necessary in case all your existing SATA ports are already occupied. All in all, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Only time will let me really appreciate this product

I have bought two of these and both are defective. They appear to support your drives, but when you do any extensive operations (such as copying or deleting a large file), the controller craps out and will lose your data and damage your hard drive. Returning these. They do NOT work!
