Join Lola as she learns what it means to be a big sister, in the third installment in the loveable Lola series. We all know how much Lola loves books, so it is no surprise that she can’t wait to share her love of reading with her new baby brother, Leo. Lola gets ready for little Leo’s arrival by reading books about brothers and sisters and picking out the perfect stories that she just knows her little brother will love. When the baby is finally here, Lola takes on the role of big sister—she helps her mommy and daddy around the house and tells Leo stories to cheer him up when he cries. Simple text and bright and charming illustrations celebrate family, reading, and what it means to be a big sister. Review: My Daughter’s Favorite Books Right Now - The Lola book collection is simply delightful! We have almost all of them at home, and I can honestly say they’ve made a big difference in my daughter’s daily life. The themes are very relevant and perfectly match the stages she’s going through right now, such as starting school for the first time, welcoming a new sibling, and developing a love for reading and trying new activities. Beyond being educational, the books are engaging and help children better understand their feelings and life changes in a light and fun way. My 3-year-old daughter absolutely loves interacting with these books—it has become a very special moment for us. I highly recommend them to other families! I will definitely be buying the remaining books to complete the collection. Review: Great book for a soon to be big sister - We got this book for our daughter during our second pregnancy and we loved having it. It was the perfect level for our 2 year old, talks about the concepts that are important and helped her understand what was happening in mommy's belly. We had a hard time getting her to understand the concept of a new baby coming and this book helped her build the vocabulary to be able to get excited about baby brother coming.

The best sibling book!
I was looking to add more diverse children's books to my library and stumbled on this absolute gem! I've gotten a lot of sibling books to help my daughter prepare for our new arrival, and this is the best! It offers practical ways parents and siblings can keep strong connections and make everyone feel loved when the baby comes. It is the sweetest sibling book, and I am so glad I have it!

Our favorite big sister book
I bought my daughter several big sister books before her brother was born. This is far and away her favorite and the one that we've continued to read over a period of months. The pictures are bright and colorful and the story is easy to follow. The things the author highlights match up really well to my daughter's observations and questions. For example, her most common observation is that her brother "cries a lot" and the book does a good job of explaining why that might be the case and giving the big sister something to do to help.

Great big sister book for book lovers
We love this big sister book for my daughter who loves to read. It goes through the process of Lola's mom being pregnant, going to the hospital for the baby to be born, and reading to baby brother Leo after he is born. The book is very positive about being a big sister, but also includes text about how the baby sleeps a lot and how babies are a lot of work. I also appreciate that the characters are people of color.

We love the Lola series!
My daughter and I love the Lola series! We own the first 3 in the series (this is book 3). We love reading how Lola has transitioned from being an only child to now being a big sister and sharing her love for books with her little brother, Leo. I work in a library as a profession, which makes it even more enjoyable, so this series is a must-have for our home library. Book 4 has recently been released..."Lola Plants a Garden," so we are looking forward to adding that one to our collection as well.

Captures Life with a Newborn Perfectly
I'm so glad that my librarian sister recommended this sweet story to me after the birth of my son. I also like "Lola at the Library," but I LOVE this book. My toddler daughter found such comfort in seeing how Lola coped with being a big sister and found ways to participate by reading to her brother. My daughter was inspired to read frequently to her new brother after hearing this story. I love that this book captures how busy life is with a new baby in a family of four. Also, thank you to the illustrator for tastefully including the mother nursing Leo in the story. Nursing babies is reality in many many homes and is quite confusing for many small children. This is a great "big brother" or "big sister" present for 2-5 year olds.

Cute story to prep a little girl into being a big sister
Before baby #2 arrived I prepped my two year old with this story at bed time on the regular and I think it helped. Now that the baby has arrived we still read this book and draw comparisons to real life. It’s a great story and easy to read.
