Directions Use as a seasoning in the kitchen or in food to enhance its flavor. Review: Himalayan Pink Salt - Good quality, I use this in everything just as l would regular table salt. To my family and I it has a better flavor and the extra minerals in it is a plus! Good value much cheaper than grocery store prices for the same thing. Review: Excellent savory flavor - This beautifully colored salt is perfect for adding on top of foods. The granules are just the right size, not too small or big, and the taste will make your foods sing with umami.

Out of my depth here--
Apparently there is pink salt from the Himalayas that is supposed to be super good on veggies and added to your bath water for a long soak. This is shipped here in bulk and packaged for retail sales in the US, and, while it looks mostly white, it is super light pink and darker pink, so it is actually the real stuff. The dose for "an American type bathtub" is about half of this bag, but she-who-shall-not-be-named swears it is worth every penny's worth used that way, and that it supposedly makes the food better, too. I'm learning, but being mined in Pakistan, shipped here, bagged for retail, and shipped to the customer means the price is not cheap but the smiles make it worthwhile. One bag equals two baths and salt added to cooking. Like I said, I am learning. UPDATE-- One huge plus factor for this, applying to small kids and their grandparents and great grandparents equally is that you can caution them that this is "real" pink salt, so be careful not to use too much. Great grandparents are the most cautious about salt levels, and the visual aspect helps a lot, but the pre-school kids accept the idea it is "a magic salt" and don't use as much, but swear it tastes better. Call it magic salt, point out it is pink, and the use level drops dramatically. THAT is a plus factor I did not expect! .

It's more than okay!
I had no idea that there were so many "issues" to be pursued regarding simple salt. I must be a very simple individual because I wanted pink salt because it's pretty. And salty. And reasonably priced, please. This item meets all of those qualifications nicely. I have to confess that it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I intended to buy coarse salt for use in my classy salt grinder. But oops-- bought this "fine" salt instead. But I think it will go into my grinder without sifting through, which means that its particles aren't as fine as ordinary table salt. In fact, I think they have approximately the consistency of fresh-ground salt (which, as I have said, is classy.) It may not be the exact shade of pink that you expected, but it's pink. In a world where we can choose pink salt because it's pretty, or where the consistency of our table salt even comes up in conversation-- life is pretty darned good for us. That's my philosophy.
