G.I. Joe: Retaliation (Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy +UltraViolet)

The appearance and condition of ( G. I. Joe : Retaliation ) is excellent. The quality of the movie disc is very good and at a great price. The DVD was packaged carefully and arrived on time. I’m a movie collector and I appreciate a seller who delivers what was described.

I didn't get to see this in the theaters but watching it at home on the 70" HD tv on blu ray, just as good. What a fun movie this was. I'm a big fan of action movies with the pinches of humor here and there, they just make for a fun time and really enjoyable to watch. I've never been one who listened to the movie critics, and I know this was rated low by them but this is a cool and fun movie. A lot like "The Expendables" or other movies like that, good old action, great fight scenes, just fun to watch. The Rock being it is also is a big selling point, being a big WWE fan and long time Rock fan, love his movies. Bruce Willis, can't go wrong with his movies either really. So, anyone who loves action movies, or someone like me who grew up watching GI Joe cartoons and playing with the toys, watch this movie, you'll enjoy it I think.

This movie is kind of a sequel to the first GI Joe movie, Rise of Cobra, continuing part of that storyline and then branching way off of it, so it then mostly becomes a reboot. Some of the cast members from the first movie do make an appearance, but most of them amount to extended cameos. Some roles were recast, and some of the characters, such as The Baroness and Destro were not used in this movie. This one stars The Rock as Roadblock and Adrienne Palicki as Lady Jaye, the two main Joe characters (along with Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park). The bulk of the story involves the plot by Cobra to use Zartan to impersonate the President of the United States and bring down GI Joe. There is a large parallel story that involves Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and goes into their rivalry. The A/V quality of the Blu-Ray is very good. The picture looks great, and the special effects are seamless. The extras include a commentary track on the movie by the director and producer, then there are just over an hour's worth of making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes, as well as a few deleted scenes. So if you like watching the bonus material there is a decent amount. Overall, the movie is a good action movie, but not great. Not even as good as the first movie (in my opinion). I would have liked more of the characters to come back and not just have small roles. I am fine using the additional characters but I would have liked more of a conclusion to Duke and Baroness' storyline and bring back characters like Scarlett and Ripcord. I also think that expanding the role of Cobra Commander with Joseph Gordon Levitt and bringing back Christopher Eccleston as Destro would have been a wise move. Obviously, like the first movie, this is not an academy award-winning drama. It is a summer blockbuster action movie, and it most definitely stays in that lane. But, if you are looking for an action movie with tons of explosions and great fight scenes, this is definitely a good one.

The 3d viewing of this movie is intense. I can’t believe the price I paid for this movie, it’s worth a lot more. I really enjoyed the movie very much.

Very interesting as to remark on this show, I found it intriguing and plenty of action from beginning to end which I really love it, and the cast did it with full on emotion. The storyline has a few hidden plots and twists in it as well. Entertaining that you will be glued to the chair not wanting to miss anything. So the action is with the good guys and the bad guys we know who is going to win don't we, A very intelligent and well planned storyline, I have given the movie a rating of A grade plus for edge of the seat entertainment keeping me amused. So have you collected your popcorn and ready to put your feet up yet ( I am in a minute) so go and relax to a fabulous night of great entertainment and enjoy.

I usually don't go for violent action shows but this "GI Joe", although it has its moments of violence, also has some cool action and original stunts like I have never seen. The main reason I purchased the DVD after seeing it on Netflix was for the amazing zipline action scenes. I was so blown away by this, admiring the digital effects that made it feel so real, was enough for me to buy it. Story? Well, all the same - good guys vs. bad guys, you know. But how they get it done is where the entertainment value is. For a few bucks, it is worth it!

G.I. JOE was one of my favorite comic books and cartoon shows back in the 1980's! So, I now am used to the fact that whenever Hollywood reaches back for a childhood favorite, they usually get it half right and mess up the rest. Now what did they got right for this movie?...SNAKE-EYES vs. STORM-SHADOW! For just the scenes of these two rival ninja brothers going at each other is worth taking a look at this film! However, what did this G.I. JOE movie get wrong?..In ten words...."THE ROCK being the new leader of the G.I. JOES"! Dwayne Johnson, the former WWE wrestling star, does an somewhat okay job playing ROADBLOCK, I guess. Yet, here's the main problem: ROADBLOCK was a mid-tier G.I. JOE character. He was never ever in charge of the whole the G.I. JOE TEAM! ROADBLOCK, in the comics and in the classic '80's cartoon, was just an anti-convoy and anti-tank specialist! A cool character to blow stuff up and to buy you some time for your main offensive attack, but he wasn't nowhere to even being close to the field leader that DUKE was! Killing off DUKE, the real field leader of the G.I. JOE team, is like killing off CYCLOPS and PROF. XAVIER so that WOLVERINE, an extremely talented brawler but not a great strategist, can be the new leader of the X-MEN. It's like killing off OPTIMUS PRIME so that BUMBLE BEE can be the new leader of THE TRANSFORMERS! It's like killing off CAPT. AMERICA so that THE HULK can be the new leader of THE AVENGERS!..It's very lame! Very lame, indeed! I don't know. This movie feels like "THE ROCK" is being shoved down my throat as "the next movie action hero"! I groan whenever he's on the screen and I look at my watch to see what time it is. It's a shame, too, because I'm a big wrestling fan who loved "THE ROCK" in the ring. I think that's where he should be. If "THE ROCK" (Dwayne Johnson) is the lead in the next G.I. JOE movie and they don't bring back DUKE or SCARLET, I'm jut going to have to dishonorably discharge G.I. JOE for lameness and a senseless waste of the movie studios' money in the face of really hard economic times, and I am hereby restricting G.I. JOE from having any more active duty within the borders of my DVD collection! RECRUITS!...DIS-MISSED!....

G.I. Joe: Retaliation unleashes giant set-pieces one after the other, and they all explode to life with ferocity. This movie spits in the face of logic in greatness! Once the desert base attack unfolds Retaliation totally kicks in and doesn't stop delivering knockout action. When Cobra unleash their deadly attack upon the Joes, and Duke is killed, the remaining Joes go for all out revenge and aim to make those responsible pay. Not only is Retaliation a brilliant action movie it also serves as a great vengeance flick as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Adrianne Palicki and D.J. Cotrona reign hell on Cobra. I love the new cast, and there are a few surprises along the way too that involve returning character Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes! Adrianne Palicki and Elodie Yung are the sexiest female leads I've seen since Skyfall, unbelievably hot and very talented, and seriously good at fighting. The special effects are magnificent and they are lot more consistent and stronger that it's predecessor, plus the action sequences are mind blowing, the best being the mountain temple fight which was absolutely brilliant, then there's the scene where London gets obliterated that has to be seen just so you can admire the sheer scale of it all. The final battle is so much fun, this is where Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson really kicks into battle mode and brings out the big guns, and the face/off between him and Ray Stevenson's Firefly is pretty good! Bruce Willis has been in a lot of forgettable movies lately, and his performances aren't that great, but in G.I. Joe he's very funny, and the banter between him and Palicki is entertaining. The story itself may not be solid gold, and at times it does seem to go all over the place, but the action and visuals are enough to compensate for that, plus the killer cast make this film even more enjoyable.

Un poco mejor que su predecesora, quisieron darle un toque mas serio pero creo que faltó lastima que dejaran fuera al personaje de Destro pero todo los demás esta bien, es bueno que aun pudiera llegar con slipcover el cual es muy padre.
